C89 Pages: 14 Date: January 1990 Prepared by: Wolfgang Haverkamp Released by: Andy Roake Signatur: Q le x ‘Signature: Raychem ‘© Raychom Reports may only be usedin their orignal fom ‘Raychom GmbH Electrical Products Division Haidgrabon 6 85521 Ottebrunn Munich, Germany Tel. (088) 6069-0 Fax (099) 6005945, OBJECTIVES Indoor terminations type EPKT were to be qualified to C89 (Electricity Council Specification). ‘Cable cross section 150 sq.mn and 300 sq.mn were selected as representative of the usage range of this termination design. PROODUCT DESCRIPTION The termination consists of heat-shrinkable non-tracking high voltage (HV) tubing, which protects the cable core and seals against’ the environment by using a mastic interface. The electrical stress is controlied by 2 separate heat-shrinkable stress control tubing (SCTH). SAMPLE PREPARATION Two loops were prepared with one termination on each end of cable. TEST PROCEDURE The test procedure subsequently was carried out in accordance to specification C89. CONCLUSION All test specimens passed the required data.
