1. What is the value of these MDGs to your own community? (minimum of 5

sentences) (7 points)

-The United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have been very valuable in my
community. These objectives provide a well-organized framework for tackling important
problems including healthcare, gender equality, education, and poverty. According to what I've
observed, the MDGs acted as a road map for coordinated efforts that made it possible to make
significant improvements in healthcare, education, and poverty reduction. The focus on these
objectives encouraged cooperation between national and international organizations, fostering a
sense of shared accountability and mutual support. Despite continuous difficulties, the MDGs
have had a significant influence, helping to shape sustainable development programmes and
fostering beneficial socioeconomic dynamics in my community.

2. What are the current dynamic institutions and organizations that contribute to
community development? (minimum of 5 sentences each) (8 points)

-A number of dynamic institutions and organizations actively support community development.

Gawad Kalinga and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) work to reduce poverty by
fostering community development, housing, education, and livelihood initiatives. Local
government entities, including barangays and municipalities, are essential to grassroots
development since they carry out projects that cater to particular community needs. To elevate
marginalised sectors, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) leads a
number of social programmes, such as conditional cash transfers. By encouraging social
entrepreneurship and sustainable business practises, educational institutions like the Ateneo
Centre for Social Entrepreneurship help to economically empower communities. Furthermore,
the Philippine government works with foreign agencies like the United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP) to carry out initiatives that support good governance, inclusive growth, and
environmental sustainability.
