1. Introduction
This document provides a general description of the content for Condition Monitoring System (CBM)
SERVICE LEVEL ADVANCED
Selection of the Service Level is granted on the level of individual machine. This means, that
there could be a mix of different service levels applied to machines of different criticality
that are physically installed on the same vessel
2. Content description
Service level ADVANCED offerings for CBM includes its default configuration of sensoring and data ac-
quisition layer both for permanent and hand held option. By default, there will be an entire scope of Ser-
vice Level STANDARD contract provided, extended with additional features that in details are described
below
Note that CBM Service Level ADVANCED can not be delivered for machines equipped only with CBM
Smart Sensor Wireless solution or CBM Handheld solution.
2.2. Included
Default scope covers the following items and functionalities
- Permanent type of installation as described in offerings for CBM Infrastructure (see details in
CBM Infrastructure OFFERINGS DESCRIPTION document)
- Infrastructure for Hand-held solution that includes mounting pads and RFID tags
- Scope of Service Level STANDARD functionality
warning limits derived from baselining procedure. Corresponding traffic lights indicates
that level of vibrations on machine are above thresholds but does not point which com-
ponent is a source of increased vibration
o Fault detection for Rolling Element Bearings Drive End and Non-Drive End side:
Detection level: Same as for Service Level STANDARD.
- Machine related faults
With 5 or more vibration sensors certain machine faults can be detected with higher confidence
level than it is in case of Service Level STANDARD scenario (8MAL100003-1107 ABB Ability™ Ma-
rine CBM – Service Level Standard). In addition, with Service Level ADVANCED, the following, ad-
ditional faults are expected to be spot by ABB CBM Analysts team.
Bent shaft Axial direction sensor required to analyze harmonics and phase
Gear Faults Gear mesh frequency in spectrum and time waveform analysis
2.3. Optional
There is a number or extension options that can be added to Service Level ADVANCED. Specifics are de-
scribed below:
