ABANG-SUIZO INTEGRATED SCHOOL
READING ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
SY:2021-2022
I. Introduction
The school is an important center where learning takes but what will happen if the
pandemic strikes? The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted classes, temporary school closure
supposedly led to a considerable learning loss, particularly for low-achieving students.
Teachers faced challenges in remote learning environments. Pupils spent less time learning.
Lazy to study their modules. Find it hard to understand the lessons without the teacher’s
presence.
A widespread concern among parents, educators, and policymakers alike is that the
COVID-19 pandemic will result in substantial deficits in pupils’ learning particularly when it
comes to formative skills such as reading and math, school closures may result in learning
loss with compounding impacts over time. Despite the situation, Abang-Suizo Integrated
School accepted the challenge. We strategize our reading session by calling our learners at
their scheduled time in our classroom following health and safety protocols. With the
help/support of parents reading sessions inside school premises materialized.
II. Objectives
a. To achieve the set goals for the reading ability of the pupils.
b. To provide data as the basis for the next reading program.
c. To monitor the effectiveness of the reading program.
The above data shows that the Reading Program was effective, strategies employed by the
teachers had a significant effect on the decreased numbers of NRs and the increased number of
SRs. The cause of the increased number of SRs was the decreased number of NRs added to the
total number of SRs.
