A New Form of Education

As Nelson Mandela (1990) said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to
change the world.” General used-meaning of education is the process of receiving or giving
systematic instruction, especially at a school or university. However, in time, places of education has
changed a lot. In today’s world, there is a different way to educate people: distance education. With
the increasing use rates and visible benefits of distance education, we can say that distance
education is better than traditional face-to-face education. Three of the benefits of distance
education are saving time, the comfort of the home environment and the availability of education for
everyone.

First of all, by taking lessons online, one can save his time. As there is no traditional face-to-face
education, one does not have to take bus to go to school and put up with traffic. Therefore, he can
also find time to study the lessons. In addition, there are a lot of tutorials such as ‘how to play guitar,
piano’,’how to draw’,’how to dye’. Thus one does not go to school which gives traditional lessons, he
can find time to work on his hobbies at home.
Secondly, as one take online lessons at his own home, he feels comfortable about the environment.
For example, with distance education, there is no need for one to wear clothes which restrict his
movements and have serious-looking. Pyjamas is enough. Even foods can be eaten during the lesson.
Moreover, when tiredness strikes, there is the chance for one to go to sleep in any time.

Last but not least, the accessibility of distance education is wide. For example, an elderly, who does
not have the chance to go to school but is willing to learn, can get education in any field that he
wants as online. A child, who has not the possibility to go to school because of that he is disabled,
can study from home with distance education platforms. A worker, who has not the time in the
mornings, can study until nights.

To sum up, when it comes to comparing distance education and traditional education, face-to-face
education seems to have no chance. Distance education, having three main benefits such as saving
time, relaxing environment of the house and the accessibility of education for all people, makes itself
more eligible.
