The tournament commenced with fierce battles as two players from each
school faced off, vying to establish their chess supremacy.
In the final round of the secondary boys' category, Eucer Lopez (SNHS)
emerged victorious with 4.5 points. Brylle Bermas (SNHS) also secured 4.5
points, narrowly missing the top spot due to a difference in the time taken
to checkmate opponents. Both talented students from SNHS were guided by
their coaches, Ma'am Rose Biag and Sir Marcial Maligat. Jerico Chavez
(KNHS) secured the 2nd rank with 3.0 points, under the mentorship of Ms.
Razel Todiño and Mr. Ariel Piol.
The Chess Tournament served as a test of students' mental acuity and provided a platform to display their chess
prowess. Beyond the competition, it also fostered the opportunity for participants to forge new friendships.
