Owl Prowl - Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Let’s prowl around the boat ramp area off of Mitchell
Valley Road as Lead Naturalist Avery Smith takes us on an adventure to look for owls.
Guided Bird Hikes - Feb. 17 at 7 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Join volunteers Bobby Riggs & Mike
Evans as we try to count as many birds as we can to add to eBird for the international Great
Backyard Bird Count! Meet at the Lakeview Event Center, Parking Lot 5.

Breakfast for Bird(ers) - Feb. 17 with the Holston Rivers Virginia Master Naturalists. All
participants are welcome to stop by the Lakeview Event Center as breakfast and coffee will
be available during programming hours.

Bird Vocalization - Feb. 17 at 9:30 a.m. with Master Naturalist Melanie Smith. More and
more studies are being done into bird vocalization. Grab a snack and listen as Melanie
updates us on birdsong and learn just how smart and complex birds really area. Meet at the
Lakeview Event Center.

Guided Bird Hikes - Feb. 18 and 19 at 9 a.m. Join Mike Evans or Chief Ranger, Visitor
Experience Tanya Hall as he/she takes you on a bird hike each day in different parts of the
park. Sunday, meet at the Discovery Center, and on Monday, meet at the boat ramp off of
Mitchell Valley Road.
