Executive Summary

Marketing Aspect

The project involves in the industry of Essential Oil Making which is specifically
made to serve as an alternative remedy for the most common discomforts being
experienced by college students. These products come in 3 great scents that has its own
purpose which includes the following: Eucalyptus Oil, Rosemary Oil, and the Peppermint
Oil. It will be called TerreScents.

The business will target college students with ages 16-20 years of age. These are
the common ages of college students who face a stressful life as they prepare themselves
for their future career. Our product will be sold through direct marketing but we will put
up a pop up store that will serve also as our refilling station for customers who would
have liked their empty bottles to be refilled. The price of our product will mainly depend
on the type of oil to be used. In order for our customers to be aware of our product, we
will use streamers, fans and a mascot to let our customers know of what are product is
and also to attract potential customers.

Technical Aspect

The project will be set up at the residence of the proponent in Unit #9 Maria
Rosario Homes, MCB1 Subdivision, Brgy. San Agustin, Novaliches Quezon City. It is a
closed area where we are going to create our product and to ensure its high quality and
zero defects. We set up a quality control checker that will check if the products are
damaged free.

The main ingredients for manufacturing TerreScents will be the three basic oils;
Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Rosemary oil together with its carrier oil, the Sweet Almond
Oil. For its bottle, we used a 10ml roll on bottle and we cover it with a special paper with
its label, description and ingredients as well. The business will be requiring these
equipment’s; beaker, graduated cylinder, stirring rod, pipet/ dropper, laminating machine,
bottle, specialty paper, laminating sheets and chords.

Production of TerreScents Oil will be done twice a month with an interval of one
week. For the first year of production, the total number of goods will be 3,300 units. The
number of products to be manufactured in the succeeding year will increase by 50% or
may vary depending on the sales of the preceding year.

Organizational Aspect

The business will be a general partnership wherein all partners are liable in the
assets and liabilities of the organization. It will be registered as BMBE to avail of tax
exemption privileges. All the proponents will make all the decisions and handle all the
aspects of operations.

Financial Aspect

The total project cost will be P35, 777.00 The General Manager will cater 10% of the
total capital and the remaining capital will divided among the remaining proponents.

Product Description:

TerreScents (Latin word: Scent from earth) TerreScents is a natural aromatherapy


line based on essential oils, having its own distinctive scents and therapeutic properties
that work to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being. A great option for
smelling sensational fragrances without the harsh effects from synthetic chemicals.
Available in an array of enticing roll on bottles with a health tip tag on it that promotes
healthy living among youths.

It comes in three great scents which serve as an alternative remedy to common


discomforts experienced by college students. These three scents include: Peppermint,
Rosemary and Eucalyptus.

Market Situation:

Natural Based products have grown popularity with consumers over the past
years. In an article of Euro Monitor International, a London based market intelligence
firm, health and wellness industry has a real term growth of 7.2% every year and is
projected to become a trillion dollar industry by 2017.The demand is the result of
growing health awareness among consumers.

In the Philippines, Bureau of Agricultural Resources shows 7.9% growth per year
in the wellness industry. To date, there are 158 Health and wellness related registered
companies in the country manufacturing natural and organic products, herbal and natural
personal care formulations, herbal food supplements and health services according to the
Bureau of Agricultural Research.

Notably, many Filipino consumers are purchasing products which are positioned
as a healthier alternative.

In Novaliches, along Quirino Highway, TerreScents has targeted the college students
who are specificallyaged 16, 17, 18, and 19. These teenagers are in the stage of career
preparation, making them prone to stress and pressures. These discomforts hinder their
efficiency in school and lessen their enthusiasm toward life. With the use of
aromatherapy oils, there are different scents to choose from for relieving stress and
drowsiness, improving memory and concentration. As well as relaxing the body and mind
making them fall asleep easily after the sleepless night of doing research paper, reviewing
for exam and cramming projects.

Target Market:

Young, health conscious and college students (specifically those who are 16, 17,18 and
19) who are in the main phase of career preparation and development causing them a lot
of pressures mentally, physically and emotionally.

Objectives:

 To create brand awareness among our target market (college students generally at
the age of 16-19 years old) .
 To create market visibility using vigorous campaigns and promotions.

 To anticipate future customer needs through customer feedback.

Product Strategies:

The product has various scents that provides natural healing power and includes a tag
with a health tip that promotes healthy living among youth. It also wants to create a
quality product from a high quality ingredient so that it could encourage its market to its
repetitive purchase.

Price Strategies

The business provides a product that is affordable and has a reasonable price
using all the inputs at a lower cost but maintaining good quality.

Place strategies:

We have decided to put up a pop-up store near SM Nova and inside the Nova
Plaza. We plan toput up our stores in those 2 places because we have seen that many
people, especially college students, pass by that place. There is a great potential that
many people may be aware of our product and then they might purchase it.
