ABSTRACT
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a serious health problem, especially in tropical countries including
eastern Indonesia. DHF cases in Bau-Bau City in the last three years have shown a significant increasing
trend. In 2017 the DHF IR in Bau-Bau City was 62.6 per 100,000 population, in 2018 the IR rate was 67.4 per
100,000 population and the CFR rate was 1%, and in 2019 the DHF IR was 94.9 per 100,000 population with
the CFR increasing to 1.3%. Beginning in 2019, dengue hemorrhagic fever has increased in several regions in
Indonesia, even becoming an extraordinary event status (KLB). During January 2019, there were 15,132 cases
of dengue hemorrhagic fever and 145 deaths in 34 provinces. Aceh, 2018). The increase in DHF cases tends to
be caused by climate change caused by changes in temperature, rainfall and humidity. Climate change is
indirectly the cause for several viruses which are expected to increase during the transitional seasons marked
by rainfall and high temperatures. Therefore changes in these conditions can contribute to an increase in the
incidence of DHF. The city of Banda Aceh is a DHF endemic area with an increasing number of cases every
year. This study aims to determine the effect of climate on DHF cases in Banda Aceh City. The results showed
that DHF cases in Banda Aceh City were not affected by climate change factors, namely temperature, rainfall
and humidity
