At Tops Day Nurseries, we provide top quality childcare for
babies from three months to children aged 4 years. We also
provide play clubs for older children, aged 5 – 11 years old. Some
of our nurseries and Hi 5’s clubs have age restrictions in place,
please enquire with the administration team for more details.
Opening hours are 6am to 8pm (subject to local demand),
Monday to Friday except Christmas, Boxing and New Years Day.
There are a number of booking options available, please refer
to our booking policy which is available at the nursery.
Bank holiday bookings: The majority of Tops Day Nurseries
remain open on bank holidays. If your child’s normal session
booking falls on a bank holiday this will incur a £1.59 hourly
charge, including children accessing fully funded places. If
you would like your booking removed for the bank holiday,
please advise the nursery administration giving 4 weeks’ notice
and your invoice will be adjusted. If your nursery closes on a
bank holiday, we may be able to offer your child a place in a
nearby Tops setting, if applicable for your area. Please note
the additional bank holiday fee will be payable if attending a
different Tops setting.
Flexible booking: Our flexible booking system offers quarter
of an hour sessions, subject to a minimum charge of six hours
per week.
Shift bookings: Required hours should be in by 2pm on the
Tuesday of the preceding week at the latest. Late bookings will
attract a £19.25 surcharge.
Last minute hours with 40% off may be available at the nursery,
these hours will be emailed to parents. If the hours available fall
on a bank holiday, please be aware there is an additional £1.59
charge per hour. Please see booking policy for more information.
Extra hours: These can be booked, provided they are requested
prior to 2pm on the Tuesday preceding the week in which the
childcare is needed. If staff and space are available, less than
one hours’ notice before the booking is possible.
Fees payable: Fees for booked hours are always payable,
whether the child attends or not. These are payable monthly in
advance, and entry to the nursery can be restricted if fees are
outstanding. To terminate a booking, notice of four weeks is
required.
Siblings discount: Second and subsequent siblings receive a
10% discount on their fees, in the weeks where more than one
child attends, except where fees are funded by third parties.
Where a sibling attends a Hi 5’s club/Holiday club and/or before/
after school club the discount would be applied to their booking
first, and then to any subsequent children. The administration
fee is not charged for subsequent siblings if the administration
fee has been paid previously on enrolment for the first child.

The refundable deposit is charged for all children.
3 and 4 year old funding: Tops Day Nurseries offer funded early
education for 3 and 4-year olds. This gives universal provision
from the term following a child’s third birthday up until they
reach compulsory school age, for every child.
At Tops Day Nurseries we charge ‘general extras’ to any
funded hour claimed during our core hours. This charge covers
consumables and additional activities that are not covered by
the Early Education Funding. These general extra charges are
applied per hour during the weeks the funding is claimed. The
charge per hour is £1.92.
General extras will not be charged.
• If you access the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
• If you have a second younger child at the nursery that does
not access funding
• If you access “30 hours” funding and your child attends 40
hours or more a week
• For any funded hours you book before 9.30am or after 3pm.
To shift bookers during weeks where you haven’t booked any
hours.
• If you access 15 hours funding but your child attends 30.25
hours or more per week
• If you are offered a completely fully funded place
All 3 and 4 year olds are eligible to receive 15 hours nursery
education funding a week during term time or around 11
hours a week if taken across the full year. 30 hours funding
can be applied for via the local authority, if your application is
successful you can access 30 hours a week during term time or
around 22 hours a week if taken across the full year.
2-year-old funding: We offer a number of free early education
places for 2-year-olds subject to families meeting the
Department for Education’s eligibility criteria. Parents are
required to provide an eligibility reference number which we
will check with the local authority before you can access your
free funded two-year-old place.
If you would like a copy of our funded early education policy
please request this from the nursery manager or nursery
administrator.
Payment methods: Payments can be made either through the
eyLog Parent app (via the Invoices/Payments screen), by direct
debit or online at www.topsdaynurseries.co.uk. Childcare
vouchers and tax-free credits are also accepted (please allow
time for vouchers and tax-free credits to be processed to Tops
by the provider).

Your weekly fees are charged based on the amount of hours your child attends. For example, If your child attends 33.25 hours a week
you would be charged 10 hours at the “0 to 10” rate, 20 hours at the “10.25 – 30” rate and 3.25 hours at the “30.25 – 36” rate.
All prices are per hour. Please note, funded hours do not count towards the “Hour Bands” shown above.

There is a mandatory* additional charge of £3.58 per day if your child is in attendance between 12pm and 12.30pm. This charge covers the cost
of all meals your child will have whilst at nursery, which includes breakfast (served up until 8.30am), lunch (served at 12pm), and tea (served
at 4pm). The £3.58 charge is applied to your account if your child has one meal a day or all three meals. Breakfast and tea must be booked in
advance with the nursery administrator. Food options include a hot or cold lunch, a menu is available at the nursery. We also offer a healthy
snack station which allows children to select pieces of fruit, yoghurt or other healthy snacks, which is included in the £3.58 per day charge.
If your child is under 18 months we can offer a weaning menu, charged at £2.72 per day.
*does not apply to funded only children who are not present for meals.
