My Pencil Parable

Norlita T. Roxas

Grade 11/ALS
1st Quality: I can see a connection between my life in pencil and my family. They are the light
that guides me in all of my challenges in life, and having them by my side allows me to take
large risks and achieve great things. They are also my support system and my shoulder to lean
on.

2nd Quality: This is me right after I graduated from ALS high school. I chose this because it
makes me feel good about myself and gives me the belief that I can still finish my studies at my
age. Since I'm a slow learner and haven't studied in a long time, this upsets me a little, but in the
end it makes me stronger and encourages me to keep learning. I put myself through a little bit,
but in the end it makes me feel better and more fulfilled.

3rd Quality: My hubby and I are shown in this 3rd quality. I picked this because, as husband and
wife, we occasionally argue and fight, which leads to us saying hurtful things to each other. We
always talk about our mistakes and what needs to change in our relationship when we have a
little reflection period following an argument. In this way, our family is happy and our marriage
remains lovelier.

4th Quality: These are my lovely girls in the photo. My constant prayer to God is that they
succeed in their education, be well, and lead fulfilling lives. I try not to think negatively because,
in my opinion, thinking negatively attracts negativity into your life, so I constantly apply caution
even inside of myself.

5th Quality: As was mentioned in the fifth quality, we should be mindful of everything we do in
life since it will leave a mark, I'm showing in the photo that I serve both God and the community.
This is my way of encouraging people, especially the youth, to prioritize God and, if they have
the time, to work toward improving the community for both themselves and the residents. This is
my way of trying to leave a trail that others may observe and, with the best of intentions, pursue.
