ASSESSMENTS 4

Task 2 Instructions:
1. Document any kind of improper waste disposal. Take pictures of or videotape the wrong
practice as evidence.

2. List down ways of applying solid waste management as solution to these improper ways.

The documented improper ways of waste disposal can be fixed by applying solid waste
management through the following approaches, as listed below:

1. Proper Waste Disposal is the most important thing is to educate people on how to be
responsible enough to dispose of their waste in the right location. If we want to improve
our environment, it all starts with how individuals behave. Designate trash bins/cans in
public places with large signages. This way, there can be possibility that people will be
able to dispose the trash in the containers rather than being thrown away anywhere.
Further, ensure that the containers are heavy or strong enough to hold their position,
especially during bad weathers. It is because it can prevent the garbage being blown
away.
2. Waste Segregation everyone should be aware of the correct waste segregation
process, which involves separating biodegradable materials (nabubulok) from non-
biodegradable materials (hindi nabubulok), following proper garbage disposal. With
these, we can help to ease our garbage collector’s jobs and, to know the different
hazardous and recyclable materials.
3. Recycling non-biodegradable wastes such plastics, cans, bottles, etc., are the wastes
that are seen everywhere. However, recycling could allow us to create a wide range of
creative and useful products from these wastes. Many recyclable materials have a major
impact on how waste is disposed of properly. recycling Most of the time, non-
biodegradable wastes such plastics, cans, bottles, etc., are the wastes that are seen
everywhere. However, recycling could allow us to create a wide range of creative and
useful products from these wastes. Many recyclable materials have a major impact on
how waste is disposed of properly.
Task 3
Instructions:
1. Observe your home environment.
2. List down good ways manifested in your home aligned with reducing greenhouse
emissions.

I observed on our home environment is we are still excessively using plastics. There is still a
lot of plastic consumed. So, the community may benefit the environment by implementing the
3Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Considering that I don't notice any projects related to that.I can
see that we produced lots of waste products every day. But we are responsible enough to
handle our garbage daily for the sake of hygiene. Despite all the behavior, our house is still
organized, and clean.

Electricity Consumption- We rarely use the dryer and washing machines when doing
clothes, especially when the weather is sunny. We heat the water on our stove and wash our
dishes by hand. at last, vehicles Even though we own a motorcycle, we still choose to walk or
ride our bicycles anytime we go small distances, which is bad for both the environment and our
health. we used fans made of plastic that we turned off when not in use.

Vehicles- we can still choose to walk or ride our bicycles anytime we go small distances,
which is bad for both the environment and our health.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R’s) and Composting- As much as possible, we reduce our
wastes by buying what’s just necessary, we reuse the reusable materials and recycle some of
them into a new and efficient and creative product. And some of the scraps from the vegetables
we use for our business are being composted to our plants which serve as fertilizers.
