WEATHER ANALYSIS VIA

PRESSURE SENSOR

Science Grade 11

Group 1

Investigatory Project by Aimee Calderon

Abstract:
This investigatory project aims to detect and determine the sufficient pressure and sound of
the weather.
The goal is to use the most effective way to determine the weather by counting and timing the
sound and pitch of the sensor per seconds.
All of this was done during specific times in order to obtain the data of the weather throughout
the day; those specific times were 7:20 am, 12 noon, 4:20 pm.
Getting this IP done in a week and getting all the information about the tools and materials has
been simple and convenient thanks to the easy acces of internet.
Statement of the problem:
Pressure sensor are used for many automotive, medical, industrial, consumer and building
devices, which depend on accurate and stable pressure measurements in order to operate
realiably.

General objective:
The main goal is to determine and gather sufficient sounds and timings per seconds. This covers
pressure on the ground, vehicles outside the school, unstable grounds.

Specific Objective:
A pressure sensor is a device for pressure measurement of Gases or liquids. Pressure is an
expression of the force required to stop a fluid from expanding, and is usually stated in terms of
force per unit area. A pressure sensor usually acts as transducer; it generates a signal as a
function of the pressure imposed. For the purposes of this article, such a signal is electrical.
Methodology:
The electrodes sense any movement of the diaphragm and his changes the capacitance. The
change of his capacitances is detected by an attached circuit which then outputs a voltage
according to the pressure change. This type of sensor can be operated in the range of 2.5 Pa –
70MPa with a sensitivity of 0.07MPa

Materials\Equipment:
 Buzzer alarm
 Wire
 Battery
 Battery wire
 Aluminum foil
 Tupperware(small)
Treatment\General procedure:
The nearest available device will be used to access the internet and its facilities, however in this
case I used my own personal device. I did some wiring with the battery and alarm buzzer so that
the aluminum foil ball can make a sound when there’s pressure.

Results and Discussion:

I had a little bit of struggle about the alarm buzzer and the battery but I still made it possible to
wire it. I had to cover the buzzer with plastic so that it would not get wet when it rains.
Thankfully with the help of my groupmates and teacher my pressure sensor worked well.
Analysis of data:
According to my research analysis, the pitch per seconds of the pressure sensor depends on
where it was put in. it should be on a place that is more chaotic and has a lot of pressure like
outdoors. To be able for the aluminum foil to move there must be pressure present on that
designated area.

Conclusions:
In conclusions, The recent weather has been primarily cloudy, due to the rainy season. It has also
been particularly humid. The first few days of taking data the pitch was at high and its seconds
was close to each other. Due to the straightforward and effective strategy used when using the
internet, getting all of this information has been organized and convenient.
