CHECKLIST: WRITIING THE EXECUTIVE S SUMMARY


Includes the six elements of an Executive summary:
1) motivation,
2) problem,
3) purpose,
4) method,
5) findings, and
6) implications/conclusions
Written in one paragraph and uses not more than 300 words
Uses connecting words to ensure coherent and unity of ideas

CHECKLIST: WRITING THE INTRODUCTION CHAPTER


1. Describes the background or context in which the problem arises
2. Describes a problem statement relevant to the background
3. Identify the purpose of the research
4. States the research questions and research objectives
5. States the hypothesis of the research (if applicable)
6. Describe the scope of the research
7. Describe the significance of the research
8. Includes terms or definitions in alphabetical order
9. Provides the organization of the proposal
10. Ensure that all the elements are interrelated to each other

CHECKLIST: WRITING THE LITERATURE REVIEW


1. Indicates the focus of the literature review
2. Provides comprehensive and up-to-date literature review relevant to the study
3. Includes a discussion of the literature that is selective, synthetic, and analytic
4. Includes a discussion of criteria or variables utilized in the methods
5. Includes theory that is appropriate, logically interpreted and understood
6. Discuss the significance of the past research and how it related to the study
7. Highlights gaps, inconsistencies and controversies
8. Provides concluding remarks of the literature review which support the need for the study
CHECKLIST: WRITING THE METHODOLOGY CHAPTER
1. Restates the purpose of the study and research questions
2. Describes the research design/method
3. Provides the rationale for the chosen method
4. Identifies methods that are appropriate for the study and aligns with the research questions
5. Describes and justifies the chosen the sample and population
6. Describe and justifies the instrumentation (Include the protocol as an appendix)
7. Describes data collection procedures and indicate any problems that you may encounter
8. Describes and justify the chosen the data analysis

CHECKLIST: WRITING CHAPTER FOUR, FIVE AND SIX


1. The expected findings are directly related to the research questions
2. The Gantt chart and miles stone are reasonable based on the duration of the study
3. A flow chart of the process of research is included
4. The conclusion contains the brief summary of the research problem, purpose of the research,
research questions and the research method, in which all of these elements are linked together.
