The school was named Fungolngabong Primary School after a Ngabong tree an
indigenious B’laan word.,
which commonly grown in the place. The B’laan tribal Church was used as the first classroom
with 98 pupils and two teachers of grade one and two classes.
Through the years the community became a melting pot of race, ethnic groups and
cultures found throughout the community, 28% are B’laans, 32% are Muslims and 50% are
Christians composed of Ilongos, Cebuanos, Ilocanos, and other tribes from Luzon.
In 1993 because of the rapid growth of the population of the city, people from all walks of
life and of any region, came to settle in this small community that made the Primary School into
Elementary School with the enrollment of 320 pupils with seven teachers.
Several administrators were assigned in P. Kindat Elementary School namely: Mrs. Teresita
D. Alavar, (1991-2001) Mrs. Rosalinda P. Garcia, (deceased) (2001-2004) Mrs. Lilia T.
Surmillon (2004-2007). Mrs. Jonalyn M. Lim (March 2007-2011). Evelyn Fe E. Sanoria
(2011-2016). Liva E Orquia (deceased) (June-Dec., 2016) . At present P. Kindat Elementary
School is managed by the dynamic supervision of Mrs. Gina G. Uy since February 5, 2017 to
present.
Today P. Kindat Elementary School has a population of 1,132 pupils with 30 competent
teachers, and 2 ALIVE Teachers with friendly and orderly atmosphere, cooperative PTA
Officials that are involve in the home-school partnerships and in the school improvement
process.
