OBJECTIVE
• Identify the parts and kinds of multiplication
• Construct the proper use of multiplication in each property
of multiplication
• Appreciate the use of multiplication in daily activities
III. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity Pupils’ Activity
A. Preparatory Activities
1) Daily Routine
a) Prayer
Before we start let us pray!
b) Greetings
Good Morning Class! Good Morning Teacher!
c) Classroom Management
So kindly read Louie our classroom
rules.
d) Checking of Attendance
Is there any absent for today? None Teacher!
Very Good!
2. 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 28
2. 7 x 4 =
3. 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 48
3. 8 x 6 =
4. 9 x 5 = 4. 9 + 9 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 45
5. 7 x 7 = 5. 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 49
1. 5x7=
1. 5 x 7 = 35
2. 3x8=
2. 3 x 8 = 24
3.
7x2=
3. 7 x 2 = 14
4. 2x9=
5.
4. 2 x 9 = 18

Multiplicand 3 X 6 = 18 Product
Multiplier
A. Zero Property of
Multiplication Any number
multiplied by zero is zero.
B. Identity Property of Multiplication
Any number multiplied by one is the
number itself.
C. Multiplication is a repeated addition
Example: 6 X 4 = ?
To get the product of 6 X 4, follow
the steps:
D. Commutative Property of
Multiplication states that when
multiplicand and multiplier is
interchanged, there will be the same
product.
Let’s Try
1. 3 X 10 = ?
2. 7 X 10 = ?
3. 1 X 10 = ?
4. 9 X 10 = ?
5. 2 X 10 = ?
4) Generalization
What I Have Learned
1. Zero Property of Multiplication
Any number multiplied by zero is
zero. 1 X 0 = 0
2. Identity Property of
Multiplication
Any number multiplied by one is the
number itself. 5 X 1 = 5
3. Multiplication is a repeated
addition.
2 X 3 = 6, 2 + 2 + 2 = 6
4. Commutative Property of
Multiplication
states that when multiplicand and
multiplier is interchanged , there will
be the same product. 4 X 5 = 20, 5 X 4
= 20
5. When a number is multiplied by 10,
the product is found by writing a zero 1. 3 X 10 = 30
after the number. 2. 7 X 10 = 70
2 X 10 = 20 3. 1 X 10 = 10
4. 9 X 10 = 90
5) Analysis 5. 2 X 10 = 20
6) Application
ACTIVITY ‘A’
Give the product using the basic
multiplication facts
Zero Property of Multiplication
Any number multiplied by zero is
zero.
1. 2X0=?
2. 8X0=?
3. 3X0=?
4. 9X0=?
5. 1X0=?
ACTIVITY ‘B’
Identity Property of Multiplication
Any number multiplied by one is the
number itself.
1. 9X1=?
2. 8X1=?
3. 5X1=?
4. 2X1=?
5. 6X1=?
ACTIVITY ‘C’
Multiplication is a repeated addition
1. Visualized 2 X 3 using a circle and
give the product.
2X3=?
1. 2X0=0
2. 8 X 0 =0
3. 3 X 0 =0
4. 9 X 0 =0
5. 1 X 0 =0
2. Visualized 5 X 2 using star and give
the product.
5X2=?
ACTIVITY ‘D’
Commutative Property of
Multiplication states that when
multiplicand and multiplier is
interchanged , there will be the same
product.
1. 5 X 4 = 20, 4 X 5 = ?
2. 9 X 8 = 72, 8 X 9 = ?
3. 3 X 2 = 6, 2X3=?
4. 2 X 9 = 18, 9 X 2 = ?
1. 9 X 1 =9
5. 7 X 3 = 21, 3 X 7 = ?
2. 8 X 1 =8
3. 5 X 1 =5
ACTIVITY ‘E’
4. 2 X 1 =2
When a number is multiplied by 10,
5. 6 X 1 =6
the product is found by writing a zero
after the number.
1. 1 X 10 = ?
1. 2 x 3= 6
2. 4 X 10 = ?
3. 9 X 10 = ?
4. 6 X 10 = ?

4. 6 x 10 = 60
5. 10 x 10 = 100
IV. EVALUATION
Construct an own multiplication sentences using Zero property, Identity Property and
Commutative property (1 problem in each properties) and after that you will
exchange your works to your partner and answer those problems.
V. ASSIGNMENT
Memorize the multiplication table which are from table 1-5
