- Cấu trúc

+ tobe : WAS/WERE

I/he/she/it/ danh từ số ít/ danh từ không đếm được => WAS

You/we/they/ danh từ số nhiều => WERE

+ động từ thường:

 Khẳng định:

Chủ ngữ + động từ (thêm ed) bất kể chủ ngữ số ít hay số nhiều

My dad planted tree yesterday.

They donated old clothes for children in mountainous area last week.

Visit => visited, wash => washed, watch => watched, cook => cooked,
collect => collected,

 Phủ định: thêm “did not” vào sau chủ ng, động từ nguyên thể
Chủ ngữ + did not + động từ nguyên thể

My dad did not plant tree yesterday.

They did not donate old clothes last month.

 Nghi vấn: Đảo “did” lên trước chủ ngữ, động từ nguyên thể

Did my dad plant tree yesterday? => no, he didn’t
