This report describes the details and sequence of the emergency evacuation mock drill (Location:
SITE PROJECT OFFICE AREA) for the (A Design and Build Contract for Cycle Track -Route 3&4 in
Abu Dhabi) Project. The drill was conducted for the employees of Elite Road Supplies Company
(ECO)
PURPOSE:
This exercise was designed to test the workers' ability to respond in the case of an electric shock
emergency and the efficacy of the emergency protocols that they had been trained on.
The Drill Scenario:
A worker operating the portable steel cutting machine at the steel yard in the MSE panel precast noticed
the tool stopped working abruptly. After several checks on the connection on the equipment, he
proceeded to the main DB to check if the fault was from there. The Drill activities are highlighted below:
• At 9:20 AM Mr. Kashmir Khan (a steel fixing technician) informed Mr. Muhammad Abrar (Foreman)
that Mr. Khalid Muhammad (steel cutting machine operator) was lying unconscious in front of the
Electrical DB.
• On sighting the unconscious worker, he cautioned other workers and proceeded to put off the
electrical generator set. 9:21 AM
• After shutting down the generator set, the Foreman alerted the project Nurse (Mr. Linoy) of the
incident through a phone call. 9:22 AM
• The nurse arrived at 9:24 AM to assess the worker's condition and administer first aid.
• The worker was placed on a stretcher and moved into the emergency vehicle at 9:26 AM for
onward transportation to the Project Site Clinic.
• The medical personnel continued assessment and declared the Incident Person’s condition stable
at 9:28 AM.
• The workers were assembled for debriefing at 9:30 AM. During the debriefing, Mr. Boluwatife
Elisha explained the importance of the mock drill exercise as a means of assessing workers’
understanding of emergency procedures and awareness of the emergency contact details.
IMPROVEMENT AREAS:

• The Photographs of the drill are also attached.
Electric Shock Emergency Mock Drill Report
CONCLUSION:
The exercise went well overall, and staff members were judged to be informed of what to do in an
emergency. Personnel get the chance to practice emergency protocols and safety issues during an
emergency response simulation. There should be regular conduct of an emergency response practice.
Everyone should take part in the exercise.
