Alarms
The alarm is shown in two different alarm lists depend-
ing on the cause of the alarm. Alarms discovered by
EMS or PM are shown in the ECU Alarmlist, and
alarms from the SDU or MCU are shown in the Alarm-

• list.

1 Acknowledge the audible alarm by pressing the

®
om Horn Reset button.

To see active alarms, press the up button in the
POO10311 main menu once for the SDU/MCU alarm list and
twice for the ECU alarm list.
If there are several alarms, browse in the alarm list
using the Enter button.
3 Depress the Ackn button to acknowledge all
alarms.

Take the necessary action; refer to the Fault
Handling page 25 section for further information.
P0010312 Alarm notations remain in the alarm list until they have
been acknowledged and rendered "inactive" (fault
remedied).

Operation

Maneuvering

Operation at low load

Avoid long-term operation at idle or at low load, since
this can lead to increased oil consumption and even-
tually to oil leakage from the exhaust manifold, since
oil will seep past the turbocharger seals and accom-
pany the induction air into the inlet manifold at low
turbo pressure.
One ccnsequence of this is carbon build-up on valves,
piston crowns, exhaust ports and the exhaust turbine.

At low loads, the combustion temperature may

beccme so low that complete combustion cannot be
ensured, resulting in possible fuel dilution of lubricating
oil and eventually leakage from the exhaust manifold.

If the following points are done as a complement to

normal maintenance, there will be no risk of malfunc-
tions caused by operation at low load.
• Reduce operation at low load to a minimum. If the
engine is regularly test-run without load once a
week, the duration of this operation should be lim-
ited to 5 minutes.
• Run the engine at full load for about 4 hours once a
year. In this way carbon deposits in the engine and
exhaust system are given the chance to burn up. t
Running data

Monitor running data that is not shown in the main

menu:
1 Browse with the Page button to the engine data
menu (Measurements).
2 Use the up/down buttons to select the desired
engine data.
