321, 321B, 321P, 321PB MULTISENSOR

The Multisensor is a compact unit that combines a light sensor for constant light
control and a passive infrared (PIR) presence detector to provide energy-saving
functions in a DALI system.
The light sensor measures reflected light from the surface directly beneath it.
The unit uses this information to maintain a constant light level by adjusting the
lamp outputs.
The PIR sensor enables the Multisensor to switch the lights on when its coverage
area is occupied, and off when it is unoccupied.
The sensor’s settings are adjusted using Helvar’s Designer or Toolbox software.
Due to its excellent detection performance, the Multisensor is especially suitable
for applications where small or slow movements take place for extended periods
of time, such as offices or classrooms. Since its detection sensitivity is less
dependent on movement direction than that of most PIR sensors, fewer units are
required to reliably cover a target area.
The unit can be mounted into a ceiling void or onto a solid surface using Helvar’s 1. PIR sensor
SBB-C (white) or SBB-CB (black) mounting box (sold separately). 2. Status LED
3. Light sensor

Key Features Constant Light Coverage

• Excellent detection performance through high sensitivity and multidirectional
coverage.
• Programmable constant light control for energy efficiency.
• 10 mA DALI current consumption.
• Compact and functional design.
• Programmable in Designer and Toolbox.

4-Channel Relay Unit (494)
The 4-Channel Relay Unit is a DALI-compatible interface
unit designed to allow nondimmable loads to be
incorporated into a DIGIDIM lighting control system. The
relay unit is a DIN-rail mounted unit that can control four
individually programmable relays. The relays are ‘normally
open’, volt-free and can switch resistive loads of up to 10 A.

The relay unit is provided with a status LED, a physical

selection switch and four relay state indicators. The status
LED provides status and a fault indication. The physical
selection switch is used to identify the device during system
configuration and also acts as a manual override. The
four relay state indicator LEDs are illuminated when the
respective relay is closed.

Note: This unit does not contain a DALI power supply.

Therefore, one must be present elsewhere in the system.

Key Features
• Four individually programmable relays, normally open
and volt-free.
• Relays are internally isolated permitting separate
phases to be controlled in one unit.
• Each relay can be manually controlled using the
physical selection switch.
• All DALI functions are programmed with either DIGIDIM
Toolbox or Designer software.
• DIN-rail mounted and only 88 mm wide.

910 Router
The 910 Router uses an Ethernet connection (10/100 Mb/s) as a network backbone to seamlessly combine DALI networks.
Basic functionality is available out of the box without any programming. Helvar’s Designer software allows for advanced configuration and functional
programming of the router.
The system provides energy-saving features via presence detection and daylight harvesting. Further automation can be achieved through scheduled
events.
A PC can be connected to the system for diagnostics and logging purposes if required, but there is no need for PC control in daily operation, as all data is
stored within the system itself. The elimination of a central controller ensures that no single point of failure can cause a total system shutdown.

Key Features
• Support for 128 DALI devices (64 DALI devices on each subnet).
• Certified DALI-2 Single Master - DALI-2 Lighting (Control Gear), not DALI-2
controls (Control Devices)
• Built-in real-time clock.
• Can be networked together to form large scalable systems.
• Provides local as well as central control if required.
• Compatible with other Helvar routers (905/920/950).
• Integration with other building systems.
• Universal supply input.

DIGIDIM Universal Dimmer (452)

The DIGIDIM Universal Dimmer is a DALI-compatible lamp

interface unit for use in a DIGIDIM lighting control system.
The dimmer is a DIN-rail-mounted unit that can control a
maximum load of 1000 W at 230 V.

It has two operating modes, either of which can be used

with mains-voltage lamps:
• Trailing-edge mode is for use with low-voltage lamps
with electronic transformers.
• Leading-edge mode is for lamps with magnetic
transformers, provided that the transformers are
approved for dimming use by their manufacturers.

The dimmer is provided with a status LED and a physical

selection switch that can be used to identify the device
during system configuration.

The dimmer is also provided with an optional addressing

switch that allows simple DALI grouping of the device.
The default position ‘0’ allows the normal grouping with
DIGIDIM remote controller, Toolbox or Designer software.

Key Features
• Out-of-box operation. No programming required when
using DIGIDIM slider, rotary, or push-button panels. For
Load & Supply wiring
scene panels, ‘preset download’ must be carried out.
• Input voltage fluctuation compensation ensures stable
output levels with fluctuating incoming mains levels.
• Group-selection switch for quick and simple
programming.
• Operating-mode switch (leading- or trailing-edge
dimming).
• Overcurrent, power and temperature protection.
• DIN-rail mounted and only 70 mm wide.

Additional Functions
The following functions may be programmed using the
Toolbox or Designer software:
• Max./Min. levels, Fade times*, Scenes* and Groups*
• Dimmer status report DALI
• System failure level/ignore
• Power on level
• Power on to last level

* These functions are programmable using IR remote.
