ABSTRACT. This research to improve students' understanding about fractional counting


operation. Through this research, we try to solve the problems with title “Improve Student
Understanding about Fractional Counting Operations on Math Subjects via PAKEM with
BREAKEN CYRCLE Learning Model”. This research doing in 3 cycle. The first cycle as a
begining of tes to find out students' understanding about farction counting operation. get the final
test value of only 40%. in the second cycle by using simple props from HVS paper. Get value
individualy only 50%. We as teachers continue to find solutions, so that in the third cycle, we try
to use BREAKEN CYRCLE learning model. At the end of the lesson, we doing assessment with
three aspects: cognitive aspects, affective aspects and psychomotor aspects. From the results
achieved by using cognitive aspects, the level of completeness students reaches 80%. From
affective aspects students can respect others and then from psychomotor aspects students become
active and creative. From this research can be concluded that BREAKEN CYRCLE learning
model, can improve student understanding about fractional counting operations.
