Balancing Chemical Equations
Balancing Chemical Equations
4J Chemistry
Write balanced chemical equations for the following chemical reactions:
1. Iodine crystals react with chlorine gas to produce iodine trichloride crystals.
2. Solid Iron (III) oxide and carbon monoxide gas produce carbon dioxide gas and
iron. Hint: Take the charge of iron here as Fe3+
3. When dissolved barium chloride reacts with dissolved potassium sulfate, barium
sulfate crystals and aqueous potassium chloride are made.
4. When powdered sucrose (C12H22O11) burns in oxygen, carbon dioxide gas, water
vapour and heat are produced.
