Chapter I
INTRODUCTION
This chapter of the paper presents the problem
and Its setting. It includes the background of the
study, the statement of the problem, significance
of the study and scope and delimitation of the
study.

Background of the Study

Ferdinand “ Bongbong “ Romualdez Marcos Jr.

commonly known by the initials PBBM or BBM, is
a Filipino politician who is the 17th and current
president of the Philippines. Ever - present and
dominant throughout Bongbong’s upbringing was the
idea of public service. Having his youth and
formative years spent in Malacañang and witnessing
firsthand the single – minded dedication of his
parents to serve the country and people, he had
determined from a very young age to devote his
life to public service and the welfare of his
people (Calonzo, 2022).

However, in spite of Bongbong’s historical and

shocking return of the Marcos family to Malacañang
Palace, questions now turn domestically and abroad
to the kind of leader Marcos Jr. will be. Truth
be told, it’s a guessing game, as the Marcos
campaign avoided all debates and refused to be
interviewed by credible journalist, preferring
instead to disseminate campaign messages to a memes
via TikTok influencers and on YouTube (Graffith
Asia Institute, 2022).

According to Fernandez, et al., (2022) surveys

show Filipinos largely approve of the performance
of the younger Marcos after his first week in the
Malacañang Palace. And in his first state of the
nation address (SONA) Marcos Jr. pledge to resume
the build, build, build infrastructure program of
his predecessor, Rodrigo Duterte. The Marcos
administration wants to “ build better more “ by
keeping public infrastructure spending levels within
5-6 percent of Gross Domestic Products (GDP)
during the next six (6) years.

Thus, with the problems presented, there is an

urgency to conduct the study to know the level of
satisfaction of senior high school learners to the
Marcos administration based on their projects and
effectiveness.

learners when grouped according to:
a. Age
b. Sex
c. Socio Economic Status

2. What is the level of satisfaction of senior

high school academic learners when grouped
according to:

Hypothesis

There is no significant difference to the

level of satisfaction of the respondents to
Marcos’ Administration when group according to
age, sex and socio economic status.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study aimed to determine the satisfaction

level of senior high school learners to Marcos
administration. The primary subjects of this
research study are Grade 12 academic strand
learners enrolled in academic year 2022-2023,
Specifically STEM, HUMSS and ABM strands. The
respondents per strand are limited to forty nine
(49) grade 12 learners of the Senior High School
Academics Learners Barotac Nuevo National
Comprehensive High School, Iloilo.

Moreover, the selected participants are grouped

according to their age, sex and strand. Likewise,
these reference variables were utilized by
researchers to clearly determine the satisfaction

Administration
Is the range of activities connected with
organizing and supervising the way that an
organization or institution functions. Decides what

Administration is a thinking function because plans

The perceived level of pleasure and contentment
derive from individual performance. Satisfaction, in
addition to values and competence, is the
motivating force for occupational behavior. Meaning

the people who spread positivity. Even the most

detrimental type of person can be transformed to
think positively if positive people always surround
him/her. This, you can slowly achieve
uniquely (Roget, 1969).

Marcos Administration
The presidency of Bongbong Marcos began at noon
on June 30, 2022, following his inauguration as the
17th president of the Philippines, succeeding
Rodrigo Duterte. His term is expected to end six
years later, on June 30, 2028 (Dela Peña,2022).
Marcos assumed the presidency over the Philippines
as the world was still struggling from the
economic and social impact brought by the COVID-19
pandemic, and its negative effects were further
amplified by the Russian invasion of Ukraine
(Tamayo,2022).
Marcos initiated the rightsizing of government
bureaucracy, especially in the executive branch of
the government. His administration oversaw the
post-pandemic return to normalcy with the gradual
reopening of the economy, return of face-to-
face/physical classes, removal of stringent
travel restrictions, and the lifting of the mask-
wearing mandate for outdoor and indoor settings.

However, rising inflation was seen as a major

challenge during the beginning of his presidency

(Bacelonia,2022).

The Satisfaction Level Under Marcos Administration

The education crisis has been aggravated by the
physical closure of schools in the past two years
due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the
Philippines having the longest ban on in-person
classes. The Marcos administration is now backing
calls for the review of the country’s ten-year-old
curriculum, also known as the K-12 program, which
extended the basic education period to include two
additional years in the secondary level with the
goal of giving learners opportunities to acquire
the necessary skills demanded by the labor market.
On the other hand, The public agrees with the
experts. Everyone wants the resumption of F2F
instruction at the soonest possible time. No one
wants or needs it more badly than the poorest
families who have maintained the abiding faith in
education as the “great equalizer” that will enable
their children to escape the poverty trap. He said

The same survey also showed that despite all the
accusations and controversies thrown at the Marcos
family, the President still earned a high over-all
trust rating of 86 percent, with 60 percent

expecting his performance to be at least good to

that the Marcos administration will have the right
