Question 1: (a) What is the concentration of a saturated silver (I) acetate solution?
Ksp(AgC2H3O2) = 1.94 x 10-3. (10 pts)

(b) Calculate the solubility product for lead chloride (PbCl2). If 50.0 mL of a saturated
solution of lead chloride was found to contain 0.2207 g of lead chloride dissolved in it
(ignore activity coefficients). (10 pts)

Question 2: If I make a solution by adding water to 35 mL of methanol (CH3OH) until the final
volume of the solution is 275 mL… (20 pts)

a) What is the molarity of methanol in this solution? (The density of

methanol is 0.792 g/mL)
b) What is the percent by volume of methanol in this solution?

Question 3: (a) Assuming the CO2 partial pressure in air above a lake at sea level is 4.0 x 10-4
atm, what is the equilibrium concentration of CO2 in the lake at 25oC? (Henry’s law constant is
32 L . atm / mole). (10 pts)

(b) BaCO3 has a solubility of 7 x 10-5 mol/L. What is its Ksp? (10 pts)
