CATCH-UP FRIDAY LAUNCHED IN PES

Panggulayan Elementary School initiated Catch-Up Friday on January 12, 2024 led by Sir
Ronilo M. Sapungan, Principal IV.
With the adaptation of DEAR “Drop Everything and Read,” the teachers asked the pupils
to read reading materials from their present lessons and also short stories, fables and poems,
during Fridays and have them answer comprehension questions. They also asked the pupils to
make their own essay about a given topic and have them read what they wrote in front of the
class. This program is aimed at improving the pupils’ reading ability, comprehension skills and
writing skills, self-confidence as well as social skills.
All the pupils were happy and excited to read and learn new things. The program was
successful because of the cooperation and dedication of the teachers.
