are food, clothing and shelter. He called them basic because it pertains
to survival, biological and physiological needs of people – things needed
in order to live. This level had been very helpful to all people. Once the
need of a person is satisfied, he or she moves to the next level.
What’s New
Here is a brief description of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs.

social recognition and accomplishments.
4. Self – actualization or self – fulfillment needs (Pagsasakatuparan
ng sarili) - are personal awareness and have less concern with the
opinions of others.

The knowledge of the needs of people helps entrepreneurs market their

products and services. Products and services are bought because they
satisfy the needs and wants of the customers. A product is something
that is manufactured following a process, or grown and nurtured in
order to be sold for a profit. People can buy in Supermarket or Sari – Sari
store. They can buy different brands they want. But we must always
remember some consumerism safety issues such as the appearance of
the product, expiration dates and untampered packaging, etc. We should
also be wise to filter what is being said in the product advertisement.
What Is It
A service is a facility supplying a public or market demand. Some
examples are hair salons offering hair care and hairstyling services;
bus companies offering transport services and spas and wellness
centers offering massages, skin care treatment and the like. And there
are different products and services that are available for each type of
customer.

Objective 10: Adapt and use culturally appropriate teaching strategies to

address the needs of learners from indigenous groups
 In the presentation, the teacher put on translated Tagalog words in favor of
the indigenous people.
 During the discussion, the pupils defined products as something that is
manufactured following as process, or grown and nurtured in order to be sold
for a profit and service as facility supplying a public or market demand.
Because of this, the teacher asked for sample products and services available

needs of learners from indigenous groups

their daily lives that’s why in this part of the lesson, the teacher asked the
student the HOTS questions during the review of their answers in the activities
followed by pushing the student to support their answer which displayed the
culture and experiences of IP that they have in their home. It also displayed how
IP will apply this learning in a real-life situation.

What are needs?

commonly seen in our environment, especially in our home. They are
constantly bought out of our needs and wants.
