Cross Cancellation Tool (CCT),

Drucegrove Speech, and CPI11 ELD
Feature description
The Cross Cancellation Tool is used during the modernization phase of an elevator control
system. The tool provides a common interface between the “other” system and the Otis system
for handling hall calls. Both systems will respond to a call, however the tool will issue a landing
reset -- FUHCxx, FDHCxx, etc., and a direction reset --UHRx and DHRx, for hall calls answered
first by the Otis system and will delete calls answered by the “other” system. The Otis car will
always chase the call; if the “other” system first answers the call, the Otis car will cancel the call,
stop at the next compatible landing, and open its doors.

There are two hall button types in common use that can be used with the cross cancellation tool,
they are the electronic touch tube button and the mechanical button. The CCT can be used with
either type of button using the appropriate installation parameter setup.

Drucegrove speech consists of a series of RSL outputs to trigger the announcement of various
messages.

CPI 11 provides compatibility to the New Europa Line (NEL) ELD, Revision C, 260794.
Features include PI, direction, door motion, next stop, exit message, exit icon, overload
indication, screen blanking, limited reversal, no smoking icon, and customer messages.

Additional setup
The baseline Installation Parameter EN-CON must be set to a 1 if contract software is installed in
RCBII. Note: If EN-CON is changed from 0 to 1 the power on the processor must be cycled for the
contract software to be recognized.

Setup notes
To access the contract remote serial i/o setup menu using the service tool press module, ocss, contract,
inputs/outputs.

To access the contract installation parameter setup menu using the service tool press module, ocss,
contract, install params.

To access the CCT remote serial output setup menu using the service tool press module, ocss, contract,

Reference CPI-11 ELD for Otis2000 Basic Data for a description of the features and pictorials of the
ELD.

NOTE: EEPROMS u34 and u49 are commonly programmed with standard RSL addresses for OTIS
speech. As the Otis speech is still operational a potential conflict may occur if Drucegrove speech is
assigned the same addresses. To prevent this the following baseline I/O addresses should be cleared:
405-413, 425, 346.

Setup procedure
1. Cross Cancellation Tool

A. Set the appropriate RSL addresses of the hall landing reset outputs FUHCxx, FDHCxx, etc. Note:
these must be set to addresses different than the front and rear riser buttons FUHBxx, FDHBxx,
RUHBxx, and RDHBxx.

B. Set the appropriate RSL addresses of the direction reset outputs UHRx and DHRx.

C. Set the contract installation parameter CCT Enable. Set contract I/O CCT Enable to the appropriate
address or to 01-0 if it is not to be used. Both the installation parameter CCT Enable and the I/O CCT
Enable must be activated for Cross Cancellation to operate. Address 12BC will contain FF when Cross
Cancellation is enabled.

D. Determine the type of hall button that is present in the “Other” system. If the Hall button is an
electronic touch tube button assign a 2 to the HB-TYP baseline installation parameter. If the hall button
is a mechanical button assign a 1 to the HB-TYP baseline installation parameter.

Note: FUHLxx and FDHLxx should be used for wiring the hall lanterns rather than HDDL and HUDL.
If HDDL and HUDL is used, waiting passengers at all landings would see a lantern when the doors
open.

2. Drucegrove Speech

A. Drucegrove speech operates on any of the three RSL links. EnDruce C/H/G selects the RSL link. A
value of 0 is off, 1 is car, 2 is hall, 3 is group. However, this is absolute only if RSLConfig is 0. The
actual link used will be determined by the mapping specified by baseline parameter RSLConfig.

B. Drucegrove speech allows the car position display / announcement to be driven by either a 2-wire
serial converter or by binary position outputs. The binary position implementation require addressing
BCPx. Also address Car Position Message Trigger. The timing of the position announcement can be
adjusted by setting installation parameter Car Pos Delay.- each increment delays the announcement by
104ms. The position announcement may be delayed anywhere between start of slowdown and end of
door opening.

C. The door opening message requires Door Open State and Door Trigger to be addressed. The timing
of the trigger is fixed for the Door Open Button (DOB) to the commencement of door opening. For
opening on landing arrival the message is selectable with the Announce Open parameter. If set, the

trigger timing is adjustable via Door Open Delay within the same constraints as the Car Position
Message. If both Car Position and Door Opening to be announced, one trigger must be skewed with
respect to the other. In this event, it is recommended to start with Door Open Delay = 0 and Car Pos
Delay = 20.

D. Address CUDL, CDDL, and Direction Trigger. Note that some Drucegrove controllers may not
need Direction Trigger but instead may software extend the position announcement with the current
direction. Refer to Drucegrove documentation.

E. The door closing message requires Door Close State, and Door Trigger to be addressed. The timing
of the announcement can be adjusted by setting the DoorClose Advance installation parameter; each
increment modifies the announcement trigger by 104ms. The front door starts to close when the front
door dwell timer, at address 8179, decrements to 0. The starting value for this timer depends on whether
the doors were opened for a car call, hall call, or reversal; each having a corresponding door dwell timer
preset: CC-DT, HC-DT, and REV-DT. Adjust these installation parameters as well as Door Close
Advance to get the desired results. The door close announcement is triggered when the timer becomes
less than the installation parameter DoorClose Advance. If the door dwell is too short, the door close
may not be announced. DoorClose Advance = 0 defaults the trigger to occur at a dwell timer value of 8.
All other settings of DoorClose Advance define the actual dwell timer trigger value. This means that
settings of 0< DoorClose Advance < 8 will delay the trigger. Other settings will advance the trigger.

F. Other outputs, Car Emergency Message, Car Overload Message, Car Door Nudging Message, and
Alarm should be addressed as needed.

G. Adjustments to these delays are essential for proper announcements. Announcements are initiated
by the Drucegrove device on 500ms boundaries. That is, if one announcement is active and another is
triggered, the second announcement will likely not be made.

3. CPI11

A. Setup installation parameters.

a. Set En ELD CHG bitmask accordingly to the Car / Hall / Group RSLs having NEL protocol
PI fixtures. NEL protocol and NAO protocol PI fixtures are incompatible on the same RSL.

b. Set En Next Comm if it is desired that the next committable landing be displayed on the PI.
Normally this is not desired.

c. Set FD Cl Tim, FD OP Tim, RD Cl Tim, and RD Op Tim. If set to 0, the time will be
automatically calculated.

d. Set Language. This is the language that will be used for the exit message and next stop
message.

e. Set No Smoke to enable or disable the no smoking icon.

f. Set Otis2000 ELD TO. This is the time-out value in seconds after which the ELD will blank.

B. Set PI right and left symbols for each landing using the service tool sequence: ocss, set, pos
indicators. Note that Rev C does not support the full A-Z character set for the large 50 mm characters.
Upon exit from setup, the PI table will be downloaded to the ELD. This can be seen on the ELD as a
“Digits Init” message.

C. Set the floor dependent customer messages as desired, such as LOBBY, BASEMENT. Custom
messages are also possible. Within the Field Component Manual, refer to 4.3.9 OTIS 2000 ELD
(CPI11) for details on setting customer messages. A change from that procedure is in writing labels to
the Eeprom with ENTER, the user will be prompted to “Please Wait” to allow sufficient time for that
action.

Verification procedure
1. Cross Cancellation
See Feature Description (First chapter of this document)

2. Drucegrove Speech
A. Car position will be announced when the car slows down.
B. Car direction will be announced when the doors are fully open, or as part of the position
announcement.
C. Door opening will be announced when the car slows down or when the Door Open Button is
pressed.
D. Doors closing will be announced as the doors start to close.
E. “Please exit ...” will be announced in EHS and EFO while the car is returning to its return
landing.
F. “Please press the alarm ...” will be announced whenever the car becomes NAV.
