AC Compressor Electronic Control Valve (ECV) Inspection Procedure
1. Description
This bulletin provides the information on inspection procedure of AC Compressor Electronic Control Valve
(ECV) in FATC, DATC & Manual AC Vehicles.
2. Applicable
All models with ECV type compressor.
3. Symptom/Condition
• AC less cooling.
• Ac not working.

NOTE: Check part no. from WPC for respective VIN before replacing.
5. ECV Diagnosis Procedure through GDS (FATC & DATC only)

Procedure:
Step 1: Ensure AC gas qty. as per spec before starting ECV
performance test.
Step 2: Connect the vehicle with GDS
Step 3: Open GDS Select vehicle
Step 4: Go to S/W management (Fig. 1)
Step 5: Go to Air Conditioner (Fig. 2)
Step 6: Select A/C Compressor Test ECV type (Fig. 3)
Step 7: Follow the instructions on GDS screen & enable below Heater
Control Panel (HCP) conditions, then click “Ok” (Fig.4):
• Engine ON Idle condition
• A/C Button OFF (Fig.5)
• Blower speed 1
• Temp. setting Low
• Intake Recirculation Fig. 4
• Mode Face

Step 8: Follow the instructions in GDS & click OK to start ECV test

Step 10 : Once ECV is confirmed to be faulty Replace ECV (Fig.6)

Step 1: Remove ECV from compressor
Step 2: Measure ECV resistance through multi-meter,

6. How to Replace ECV
Procedure: ECV Connector
Step 1: Remove ECV connector (Fig.9)
Step 2: Use snap ring plier to remove snap ring (Fig.10)
{Note: Retain removed snap ring for re-assembly}
