MiCOM S30
Central Protection and Control Unit

MiCOM S30 is the up-to-date and cost-effective

Schneider Electric solution for substation control
and monitoring.
Besides local and remote monitoring and operation
MiCOM S30 provides communication, time
synchronization and access to intelligent protection and
control devices (IEDs). Factory built, pre-engineered
templates and an exhaustive support of a wide range
of MiCOM protection and control devices ensure
a quick and a reliable engineering and reduced
commissioning time.

Application
MiCOM S30, the central protection and control unit, enables acquisition
and logging of information and measured values, the automatic archiving of
disturbance fault records and status indication for a maximum of 127 IEDs
linked with the standardized serial communication interface according to IEC
60870-5-103.

For combined protection and control devices and bay units for control
and monitoring additional switchgear operation and status indications are
provided.

Overview, device and bay screens are generated by the integrated

configuration tool. Optionally a log archive is available. Additionally MiCOM
S30 is responsible for the time synchronization of the IEDs connected.
