PROJECT NAME: Virtual Classroom

Proposed by: Harshit Saini

OBJECTIVE :- This project aims to make the online classroom experience more effective and interesting
by creating a virtual environment of the NIT Hamirpur's lecture hall complex.

ABSTRACT :- The Education system under the Covid-19 circumstances has become a little dull and
monotonous and is not as effective as the pre-covid mode. As convenient as online classes are for both
teachers and students, they are not as interesting as offline classes. A virtual classroom will increase the
interest of the students in classes and help them to learn everything that is taught in the class in a more
comprehensive way, whether it is the theoretical section or the practical section.
In this project, we can interact with each other's virtual 3D avatar and this way it sums like we are attending
our class together. We can clear all our doubts while the teacher is presenting in our solid model.

EXECUTION:-

 3D models will be created using Blender.

 Models will be added to Unreal Engine and textures will be added to them. Scripting will be done
using the C++ language.
 Apk would be user-friendly.

MERITS AND DEMERITS:-

 People can interact with their classmates and teachers through virtual mode and can learn in a new and
effective way.
 This project will help the students visualize their lab work more effectively.
 This project will help in providing the study atmosphere to the students that they are missing because
of classes being taken in online mode.

PROJECT NAME: Nano Satellite

Proposed by:- Yash Upadhyay

OBJECTIVE :- Designing and simulating a functional Nano Satellite that will measure the Ozone
count in the atmosphere when deployed at the desired height.

ABSTRACT :- Due to heavy industrial activities and pollution, the Ozone layer is getting
depleted at a greater rate than it can replenish. This has led to an increase in the diseases caused due
to excessive exposure to Ultraviolet rays.

Through this innovative project, we can monitor the ozone concentration in the atmosphere and hence
work towards reducing pollution and depletion accordingly.

EXECUTION :-

 Formulating the most effective design that will reduce the payload.
 Creating a 3D simulation using Mathworks and Simulink software.
 If time permits, we can make it a full-time project and even launch it with the help of space
organizations.

MERITS AND DEMERITS :-

 Nanosatellites especially the 3U type are cost-effective and easy to design.

 They require less maintenance and in case of extreme failure, they can be destroyed easily without
worrying about the budget.
 Demerit - Time-taking but very beneficial project.

BENEFITS :-

 Not many institutions in India (except IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, SRM, and some others) are into
satellite designing and this can be beneficial for our college to make a mark in this field. The project
aims at improving the environmental condition by monitoring the ozone level and hence preventing
its depletion.

PROJECT NAME: RecoverX

Proposed by: Nikita Soni

OBJECTIVE: -We have seen a lot of people who are unaware of the problems caused by Finger Stroke,
being not aware of this kind of problem can lead to serious issues like not being able to use their fingers at all
also known as dead fingers. This project aims to cure this problem with an easy practice of muscle contraction
and relaxation.

ABSTRACT: - Finger Stroke has been something where the advancements in the medical industry have
not had a high pace since people don’t consider it as a medical emergency. But these problems, when
neglected, might lead to numbness and weakness of the finger muscles in the future. RecoverX works on a
user-controlled Bluetooth device where the user could train themselves by using our prototype. While using
RecoverX, the user can perform exercises in the form of compression and relaxation via controlling the
finger's movement using their mobile device. The pulley movement across the fingers and the structure tend to
pull or relax the user's fingers as explained above. RecoverX simply works on using DC motors, a Motor
Shield, and the brain Arduino. Exercise in this form helps these patients to improve their movement of finger
muscles.

EXECUTION:-

 Using mechanical frameworks for building up the structure required.

 The pulleys are put up in such a manner to compress and relax from the DC motors.
 Following this, we head to the electronics area where we started off by connecting Arduino
Uno and motor shield first.
 Using a breadboard for having the Bluetooth sensor we connected it with the motor
shield such as to make it follow the directions.
 Uno with the help of servo motors moves the mechanical framework accordingly.

MERITS AND DEMERITS:-

 There is no proper solution in medical science to cure the problem of dead fingers but
our project will do it effectively and at a lower cost than physiotherapy.
 This practice can be easily done at home to bring the movement back.
 Controlling the motor speed such that it doesn't hurt the user's fingers.
BENEFITS:-
 Helps to cure the numbness and weakness of the finger's muscle with the repetitive
practice of contraction and relaxation.
 This project will make the process of exercising easy as the patient will not have to go out
especially for the physiotherapy treatment.

PROJECT NAME: Quantum Key Distribution

Proposed by: Yash Upadhyay

OBJECTIVE :- Securing a communication channel between two users using Quantum Key Distribution
(QKD) with a common interface (MQTT Protocol) and then expanding it to multiple users.

ABSTRACT :- Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is a secure communication method that implements a
cryptographic protocol involving components of quantum mechanics. It enables two parties to produce a
shared random secret key known only to them, which can then be used to encrypt and decrypt messages. It is
often incorrectly called Quantum cryptography, as it is the best-known example of such a task.
An important and unique property of QKD is the ability of the two communicating users to detect the presence
of any third-party interference trying to gain knowledge of the key. By using quantum superpositions or
quantum entanglement and transmitting information in quantum states, a communication system can be
implemented that detects eavesdropping.
EXECUTION:-

 Quantum Inspire is the quantum simulator that will be imported through the Qiskit library.
 User A and User B publish the basis they encrypt and send them to the intermediate feed, and the
interface as a subscriber to that feed will receive messages from them.
 The intermediate interface can then generate the random initial state, which will then be sent to
the Quantum simulator.
 The measurement is done in the simulator based on user A and user B chosen by creating the
quantum circuit with A as qubit 0 and B as qubit 1.
 The result then will be sent back to the intermediate interface. The interface then will publish the
results for A and B to Feed A and B respectively so that user A and user B only receive their one
result.
 Then they can communicate with each other openly discussing the basis they chose and the result
they got.

MERITS AND DEMERITS:-

 Relies on the principles of quantum mechanics in contrast to traditional public-key cryptography

which relies on certain mathematical methods (for eg. Prime Factorization).
 QKD has provable security based on information theory.
 It relies on having an authenticated classical channel of communications.
 In modern cryptography, having an authenticated class channel means that one has either already
developed or exchanged asymmetric key of sufficient length.
 Thus QKD does the work of a stream cipher at many times the cost.

BENEFITS:-

 Quantum Key channels because of their un-hackable properties can be used in e-banking and other
such applications.
 The main arena where this project can benefit is the defense sector where order relay channels
are at all-time risk of being hacked.

PROJECT NAME: Smart Blind

Proposed by: Gautam Kumar

OBJECTIVE :- A pair of smart glasses and a smart stick for the blind that enables them to walk without
any assistance and get to know things that are happening around them.

ABSTRACT :- All of the tasks that are performed by the visually impaired require a great deal of
dedication and reliance on the other major human senses. To minimize that dependency and help blind people
live independently.
EXECUTION:-

 Smart Stick
To make the stick operate, we used MSP430. MSP430 is an open-source electronics platform with
user-friendly hardware and software. MSP430 boards can read inputs from buttons and a variety
of sensors.
The HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, like bats, employs SONAR to measure the distance between two
objects. The stick also contains a buzzer that sounds and informs the user to potential hazards. It
also has a Panic Button, which may send an alarm message to loved ones along with the person's
location.
 Smart Glasses
Images are captured by the raspberry pi module then images are sent to raspberry and then
tensorflow processes the images. After processing using text to speech feature user can hear what
is in the image using an audio device.

MERITS AND DEMERITS: -

 External power sources can be modified like solar panels.

 A person will be able to know what is going on in front of him.
 If a person is blind and deaf then he/she can’t hear the sound.

BENEFITS:-

 This will help blind people to become independent to a greater extent. They will be able to identify
noises around them, obstacles and will also be prevented from getting hurt.

PROJECT NAME: - Human to Human Control System(A)

Proposed by: - Bhavneesh

OBJECTIVE: -This project aim to bring back the movement of physically disabled people by
using EMG to detect the potential difference in motor neurons.

ABSTRACT: - Soft tissue damage and muscle injuries are crucial topics among athletes and trainers and can
become serious problems if not monitored properly. In order to solve this problem, we propose a
system that employs surface EMG (electromyography) to detect the potential difference in motor neurons
produced by muscle movement in order to trigger a nerve stimulator that replicates brain signals to
stimulate motor neurons in another person's body.

EXECUTION: - We'll be using a Muscle sensor connected to electrodes on the first person's arm. The
person will make contraction and relaxation movements, and the values in the form of an analog signal are
collected via electrodes linked to the muscles and delivered to the Arduino, which is connected to the Bluetooth
module and delivers the data to the receiver Arduino at the patient's side. Thus, the data collected on the receiver
Arduino is amplified and supplied to the patient's arm at the precise position of the muscle of his arm using the
identical device (muscle sensor and electrodes) used on the first individual.

MERITS AND DEMERITS: -

 Give effective electro-diagnostic techniques.

 It can be used to train athletes (movements) & monitor muscle activity to reduce soft-tissue injury

BENEFITS: -

 Creates a swarm network. These are peer-to-peer networked nodes that create a decentralized storage
and communication service.
 This can be used to bring back the movement of physically disabled people.

Proposed by: - Bhavneesh

OBJECTIVE: -This project aims the people who can’t speak and convey their messages to regular people by
converting their hand gestures to audio.

ABSTRACT: - This project helps people who can’t speak, by conveying their message to regular people
using hand motions and gestures. It reads persons hand motions for different variations of hand movement and
convert it into audio message which is easily understandable to regular people.

EXECUTION: - Firstly a micro-SD card having RASPBIAN operating system is mounted on the raspberry
pi. Gestures are made by the person who cannot speak by wearing gloves. Flex sensor and accelerometer is
attached to gloves. Bending of finger during hand gesture is detected by flex sensor whereas accelerometer
detects the angular displacement while making gestures. These sensors give analog value and to convert this to
digital Analog to Digital Converter is used. The digital values obtained from the sensors are matched to pre-
programmed values given in the python program and the respective messages are displayed and played through a
speaker.

PROJECT NAME: PCB Fault Detection
Proposed by: Priyanshu Rajput

OBJECTIVE: - To detect quality defects in Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) using semantic segmentation
on circuit board images.

ABSTRACT: - Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are the primary component of any electric design and are
used in all kinds of fields such as logistics, defense, aeronautics, the medicine industry, and the automobile
industry. With the increasing popularity of consumer electronic products, accurate PCB manufacturing is
critical along with production at scale, this calls for accurate automated quality inspection systems that can
provide fast and quantitative information of defects and therefore prove to be an asset in the manufacturing
process.

We aim to use semantic segmentation to detect inconsistencies in circuit board images by using pre-recorded
and labeled circuit imagery of working and non-working PCBs. Semantic segmentation involves assigning a
class to every pixel of the image, wherein we treat multiple members of a class as a single entity. Semantic
segmentation would let us examine the circuit network imagery and detect inconsistencies in those networks.

EXECUTION:-

 We first input the dataset of pre-recorded and labeled images of working and defected PCBs.
 We use semantic segmentation to study the constant network patterns of working PCBs.
 We use the data of defected PCBs to detect the distinct characteristics of the defected circuit board
networks.
 We can then input fresh samples to our classifier to classify the PCB's quality levels

MERITS:-

 Provides a method for accurate automated quality inspection

 Decreases the chances of human error
 Increases the speed of inspection processes without compromising accuracy

writing in the air, resulting in a digital text document.

ABSTRACT :- The project's purpose is to create a virtual tablet that will allow us to write on the screen
while also writing on the air. It will use OpenCV to track the position of the pen's tip in order to determine the
pen's exact location. The color of the pen tip will be measured on the Hue Saturation Value scale to the closest
solid ink so that we may create a digital text document. The screen sharing will be done via the Google Meet
extension. It will clip a certain rectangle from the board to make it easier to represent and will act as a virtual
tab.

EXECUTION:-

 Firstly we will track the tip of our target by using OpenCV so that we can recognize the exact
positioning of the pen.
 Then we will identify the color of the tip and use it as ink color on the background solid color.
 It will be Google meet extension which will be using a camera screen as a share screen option
and will crop a specific rectangle from the background to serve as a board and work as a virtual
tablet.
