6 Dust ing and cleaning of HT& LT Sub-st at ions consist ing of a 350 Operations
t ot al of 100 Nos HT Breaker panels, 150 Nos LT Breaker
Panels, 4 set s HT Capacit or Banks, 36 Nos LT Capacit or Banks,
30 Set s Bat t ery Chargers & Tripping unit s, 30 Nos
Transform ers locat ed at various Sub-st at ions inside the plant
regularly. The scope of t he w ork includes t he follow ing
act ivit ies.
a) Lifting t he rolling shut t ers, opening the collapsable doors and
dust ing t he various equipm ent s in t he sub-st at ion regularly.
The shut t er/ doors shall be closed after cleaning t he Subst at ion.
b) Cleaning t he cobw ebs inside t he cont rol room and transform er
room.
NOTE :
1) The HT& LT breakers are located at various sub-stations inside the factory premises.The contractor has
to arrange to shift all his testing equipment, tools to various locations to repair, check and test the
Breakers as per the instructions of t he site engineer.
2) The plant w ill be operating in all the three shifts and necessary shutdow ns are to be requested by t he
contractor and suitably plan his activities as per the availability of the shutdow n.
3) The contractor shall arrange and organise skilled ITI(Electricians & Elect fitters) manpow er to attend the
activities.
4) No manpow er w ill be supplied by BHEL to handle the equipment.
5) All necessary tools and tackles, necessary equipment t o attend the activites has to be arranged by the
contractor.
6) Removal of the CTs, PTs, relays, meters and other auxiliaries is in the scope of contrator.
7) Cable lugs, Cable end termination kits w ill be supplied by BHEL . Contractor has t o arrange hydraulic
crimping tool for cripping the lugs.

8) All safety and protective devices are to be arranged by the contractor.
9) The priorities w ill be decided by BHEL. If necessary contractor shall shift his man pow er from place to
place to meet the emergencies. No extra charges w ill be paid for such changes.
10) All jobs required to make the HT & LT sw itchgear functional is deemed and have been included in t he
scope of w ork.
11) Contractor should have valid Grade A 11KV or above Electrical licence issued by CEIG.
12) Skilled technicians are required to have w ork permits of w ireman/ supervisory licence issued by CEIG.
13) Contractor has to depute w orkers specifically for this job inside BHEL factory premises during BHEL's
first shift (0715 hrs to 1545 hrs) and during emergency breakdow ns during rest of the day for im mediate
clearance of breakdow ns. The number of labour can be decided by the contractor keeping in view of the
Breakdow n uptime criteria and penalty clause.
14) Preventive maintenance of the HT/ LT Breakers - as per the schedule given by Engineer Incharge. The
schedule w ill be tentative - depending on the availability of the Breakers. Payment w ill be based on
preventive maintenance of actual number of HT/ LT breakers.
Breakdow n M aintenance
1. Breakdow n M aintenance of HT & LT S/ S w ill be intimated to the contract or same w ill be noted dow n in the
register. Attending to breakdow n maintenance calls in such a w ay that the Substation HT/ LT is put back int o
operation in best possible minimal time.
2. In case of urgent breakdow n, the contractor shall have to retain his staff on w orking days, and call back on
Sundays and holidays as per requirement and as and w hen instructed by the Engineer In-charge, for
completion of urgent breakdow ns. How ever, any com pensation on this account shall not be paid by BHEL
outside the conditions specified in the payment terms.
3. When repair/ maintenance/ modification w ork gets completed, the act ual time (in hours), material
consumed, total dow n time and other information shall be reported to the Engineer Incharge and same
w ill be w ritten in the Register.
