MEUC Notification to Claimants

The Mixed Earners Unemployment Compensation (MEUC) program was created as part of the Continued
Assistance Act to assist workers who had multiple sources of income that varied in eligibility for traditional
Unemployment Compensation. MEUC provides an additional $100 weekly in extra benefits to eligible
claimants. Payments will be retroactive and will begin after review of supporting documentation.

If you were previously self-employed, starting on April 23, 2021, you can apply for an additional $100
supplemental payment under the Mixed Earners Unemployment Compensation (MEUC) program..

To qualify for the additional MEUC payment, you must:

1) have earned at least $5,000 in net self-employment income in the most recent taxable year prior to
your application for regular unemployment compensation, and

2) submit documentation substantiating your net self-employment income.

· If the effective date of your regular unemployment claim is any time from January 5, 2020 through
December 27, 2020 – you should submit documents for tax year 2019.

If you are eligible for the MEUC program and are paid at least $1 of your underlying unemployment
benefit amount for any week of unemployment, you will also receive a $100 supplemental MEUC
payment. This is provided in addition to the $300 FPUC payment. After you submit documentation and
DUA confirms your information, you do not need to take any additional action to receive this supplemental
payment. Continue to file your claim each week for the unemployment benefit you are currently receiving.

The MEUC program is payable for the week ending January 2, 2021 through the week ending September
4, 2021. You will receive retroactive payment for any weeks you are eligible back to week ending January
2, 2021.

Individuals receiving PUA benefits may not receive MEUC benefits.

Important Note: MEUC payments will be considered when determining income for Medicaid and the
Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Therefore, MEUC payments may affect an individual’s
eligibility for these programs.
