The Glasgow City Council will accept applications to fill the
upcoming City Council Vacancy in Ward III, that will run until
December 31, 2023. Applications can be picked up at the
Glasgow City Clerk’s Office, 319 3rd Street South, Monday
through Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00
p.m. Applications will need to be returned by 5:00 p.m. on
December 23, 2021, to be considered for the position.

Hallock wins a Holiday Classic

Glasgow had its first winner in awhile at the Great
Falls CMR Holiday Classic wrestling tournament held
Friday and Saturday. Kyler Hallock won the 205-pound
weight class championship becoming the first Scottie to
win a championship since Matt eyling did it in 2016.
Hallock won by major decision with a 16-5 win over
Great Falls High’s Branen Lockart in the chipper. Lockart
was 11-0 entering the championship bout.
Hallock (14-3) had two quick pins in winning his
first two bouts. The senior pinned Cadogan Wheat of
Hamilton in 34 seconds. The win came after a first round
bye. He followed that with a 49 second fall over Sebastian
Mansfielld of Chester-JI. Hallock won a 5-3 decision over
Mason Garfield of Wolf Point in a semifinal match.
Glasgow placed 10th out of 54 schools with 112
points, with Billings West winning the title. Billings
Senior was second and Great Falls High was third. The
Scotties finished in front of all of the Class B-c teams and
eight Class AA programs.
Devon Nesbitt (17-7) took third place at 160 with
an 8-0 major decision over Wyatt Elam of Fergus. The
senior started with three straight falls over Joe Ramos
of Valier in 1:31, David Sharp of Browning in 3:23, and
Felix Peterson of Bozeman Gallatin in 5:36. Zach Valdez
of Colstrip pinned Nesbitt in 39 seconds. Nesbitt fought
back to win by a fall over Miles Hoerauf of Whitehall in
2:44.
Mason Donaldson (10-11) finished seventh at
152. The junior won by a fall in 26 seconds over Manny
Coche of Miles City and followed that with a 17-9 major
decision over Zaden Heck of Colstrip. Bozeman’s Avery
Allen pinned Donaldson in 3:18. Donaldson won by
injury default over Riley Plenniger of Havre, and was
pinned by Owen Younger of Laurel in 1:45. He won the
seventh place match with a fall over Riley Richtmeyer of
Townsend in 4:06.
Ted See (13-8) wrestled at 113 and went 2-2 with
pins over Cohen Sassane of Helena Capital in 38 seconds
and George Chapman of Chinook in :20. See was pinned
twice by Junior Madrid of Billings Senior in 52 seconds
and Navarjo Escarcega of Poplar in 1:26.
Jake Kuka (8-9) went 2-3 at 120 with pins over Kellan
Cassidy of Cut Bank in 4:45, Charltz Connelly of Valier
in 4:45, and Ivar Radcliffe of whitefish in 1:45. Kuka
lost a 6-2 decision to Landree Aurund of Whitefish and
was pinned by Hunter Barnes of Dillon-Twin Bridges-
Sheridan in 25 seconds.
Jack Cornwell (9-9) went 0-2 at 138 losing a 4-1
decision to Quentin Campos of Browning and at 19-2
Tech fall to Brodie Oben of Great Falls High.
Michael King (10-11) also went 0-2 at 145 losing
two by pins.
Damien Nesbitt (13-6) had to bow out of the
tournament via a medical forfeit to Easton DeJong of
Miles City. The senior won two by pins over Klause Rauser
of Townsend in 2:52 and Brady Armstrong of Jefferson in
1:38. He lost an 8-4 decision to Orion Thivierge of Havre.
Austin Hughes (8-9) went 1-2 at 182 with a pin over
Xavier Wood of Conrad in 1:58. Hughes was pinned
by Chris Garcia of Billings West in 2:51 and lost an 8-4
decision to Dorian White of Great Falls CMR.
Shalyn Pederson scored 24 points in taking
fourth place in the 126 weight class. She was pinned by
Cheyenne Algneau of Billings Senior in 1:30. Pederson
started off with a fall over Trinity Backett of Bozeman
Gallatin in 57 seconds. She followed that with a fall over
Araion McCuen of Billings Skyview in 35 seconds. Hania
Halverson of Kalispell pinned Pederson in 36 seconds.
Pederson battled back to win two bouts, pinning Allie
Murphy of Belgrade in 28 seconds and taking down Bella
Hernadez of Billings West in 1:29.
Glasgow had some wrestlers participate in the
junior varsity tournament. Michael King had double
duty with varsity and JV action. He placed third in the JV
tournament, going 4-1 at 145.
Austin Hughes also had double duty going 2-2 at
182.
Ted See was fourth at 113, going 4-1, Gabe Munroe
went 1-2 at 285, Ted Tryan fourth at 138, going 3-2, and
Hunter Crum fourth at 205, going 2-2,.
The Scotties will have dual in Malta tonight.
