Activity 2: DATA MANAGEMENT

Name: Christian Chayil L. Malaluan Score:
Section: Date:

DIRECTION: Analyze and interpret the following data set. 5 POINTS EACH
1. Twenty-five army inductees were given a blood test to determine their blood type. The data set is:

A O B A O
O B AB O AB
A O O AB O
AB AB O A B
B AB B A O
Construct a frequency distribution for the data and interpret using textual presentation.

BLOOD GROUP TALLIES FREQUENCY RELATIVE FREQ.

GROUP A IIIII 5 20 %
GROUP B IIIII 5 20 %
GROUP AB IIIII I 6 24 %
GROUP O IIIII IIII 9 36 %
Total: IIIII IIIII IIIII IIIII IIIII 25 0%

The frequency table shows the distribution of blood types among 25 army inductees. The most common
blood type is O, which occurs 9 times in the dataset, representing 36% of the total. The second most
common blood type is AB, which occurs 6 times, representing 24% of the total. The blood types A and B
are equally frequent, each occurring 5 times, representing 20% of the total. The table reveals that the
blood type O is more prevalent than the other blood types among the inductees.

2. To study the library habits of students at a local college, thirty randomly selected students were
surveyed to determine the number of times they had been to the library during the last week. The following
results were obtained:
1 2 2 1 3
4 5 3 2 2
2 1 1 2 4
3 4 2 3 5
1 3 2 5 2
1 5 3 4 1
Organize the data by creating the frequency distribution and construct a pie chart to represent the data.

2010 4.47
2015 4.89
4. Below is the 2016 distribution of the Philippines’ overseas contract workers according to age group.
Represent the data in a pie chart and interpret it.
