Let’s Check

A. Analyze and interpret the following data set.

1. Twenty-five army inductees were given a blood test to determine their
blood type. The data set is

A B AB AB O
O O B AB B
B AB O A O
A O O O AB
AB A O B A

Construct a frequency distribution for the data.

Class Tally Frequency Relative frequency; %

A IIII 5 20%
B IIII 5 20%
O IIII IIII 9 36%
AB IIII I 6 24%
Total: 25 100%

2. To study the library habits of students at a local college, thirty randomly selected
students were surveyed to determine the number of times they had been to the
library during the last week. The following results were obtained:

1 5 2 1 1 4 2 1 5 4
5 2 5 1 2 3 4 1 1 2
3 5 4 1 2 2 4 5 1 2

Organize the data by creating the frequency distribution and construct a pie chart
to represent the data.

Number Of Times They Tally Frequency Relative frequency; %

1 IIII IIII 9 30%

2 IIII III 8 26.66%

3 II 2 6.66%

4 IIII 5 16.66%

5 IIII I 6 20%

years. The year of 2015 has the highest number population with 4.89 million,
followed by the year of 2010 with 4.47 million, and the least population among
the three is the year of 2000 with 3.68 million.
