PUZZLES & SITTING ARRANGEMENT

PUZZLE – 1
Seven persons goes to market in the same week from Monday to Sunday. They
all like different Colors i.e. Grey, Orange, Green, Pink, Blue, Red and Violet but
not necessarily in the same order.

More than three persons go before Q who likes Blue. Only two persons go
between Q and the one who likes Red. R goes immediately after the one who
likes Red and immediately before V. The person who likes Grey goes on
Sunday. Number of persons going to market before P is same as the number
of persons going after T. T goes after R. P likes Orange. S goes before U. U
does not like Red and Pink. The one who likes Pink goes after the one who
likes Green.

एक ही सप्ताह में सोमवार से रवववार तक सात व्यक्ति बाजार जाते हैं। वे सभी अलग-अलग रं ग
पसंद करते हैं अर्ाात ग्रे , नारं गी, हरा, गुलाबी, नीला, लाल और बैंगनी लेवकन जरूरी नही ं वक
इसी क्रम में हों।

तीन से अविक व्यक्ति Q से पहले जाते हैं वजसे नीला रं ग पसंद है। Q और लाल रं ग पसंद करने
वाले व्यक्ति के बीच केवल दो व्यक्ति जाते हैं। R, लाल रं ग पसंद करने वाले व्यक्ति के ठीक बाद
और V के ठीक पहले जाता है। ग्रे रं ग पसंद करने वाला व्यक्ति रवववार को जाता है। P से पहले
बाजार जाने वाले व्यक्तियों की संख्या T के बाद जाने वाले व्यक्तियों की संख्या के समान है। T,
R के बाद जाता है। P को नारं गी रं ग पसंद है। S, U से पहले जाता है। U को लाल और गुलाबी
रं ग पसंद नही ं है। वह व्यक्ति वजसे गुलाबी रं ग पसंद है वह हरा रं ग पसंद करने वाले व्यक्ति के
पीछे जाता है।

PUZZLE - 2
Eight persons i.e. Z, A, L, M, T, K, B and W live in a nine storey building (but
not necessarily in the same order). The first floor is numbered -1, its immediate
top floor is numbered -2 and so on, the topmost floor is numbered -9. One
floor is vacant.
W lives on an even numbered floor. There are three floors between A and T. A
lives above T. The vacant floor is an odd numbered floor. Z lives on an even
numbered floor above the floor number 5. Two persons live between Z and M.
M lives below Z. There are two floors between M and L. W lives immediately
above L and immediately below B.

आठ व्यक्ति अर्ाात् Z, A, L, M, T, K, B और W एक नौ मंवजला इमारत में रहते हैं (लेवकन

जरूरी नही ं वक इसी क्रम में हों)। पहली मंवजल को क्रमांवकत वकया गया है -1, इसकी
वनकटतम शीर्ा मंवजल को क्रमांवकत वकया गया है -2 और इसी तरह, सबसे ऊपरी मंवजल को
क्रमांवकत वकया गया है -9। एक मंवजल खाली है.

W सम संख्या वाली मंवजल पर रहता है। A और T के बीच तीन मंवजलें हैं। A, T के ऊपर रहता
है। खाली मंवजल एक ववर्म संख्या वाली मंवजल है। Z, मंवजल संख्या 5 के ऊपर एक सम
संख्या वाली मंवजल पर रहता है। Z और M के बीच दो व्यक्ति रहते हैं। M, Z के नीचे रहता है।
M और L के बीच दो मंवजलें हैं। W, L के ठीक ऊपर और B के ठीक नीचे रहता है।

PUZZLE - 3

Seven persons i.e. M, P, Z, D, W, Q and G are sitting in a row from left to right
and all are facing south direction. They all like different fruits i.e. Grapes, Kiwi,
Orange, Mango, Pear, Apple and Guava. All the information is not necessarily
in the same order.
P, who likes Mango, sits at one of the extreme ends of the row. Three persons
sit between P and G. G is an immediate neighbor of both M and Z. Z likes
Orange. W sits third to the right of Z. The one who likes Apple sits third to the
left of the one who sits immediate left of P. D who likes Grapes is an immediate
neighbor of the one who likes Pear. M does not like Guava.

वाले व्यक्ति का क्षनकटतम पड़ोसी है। M, अमरूद पसंद नही ं करता है।

PUZZLE - 4
A certain number of girls sit in a row from left to right. Some of them faces
towards north and some of them faces towards south. Not more than two
persons facing the same direction sits adjacent to each other.

The person sitting at the extreme ends faces in the same direction. D sits third
from one of the extreme ends of the row. Three persons sit between D and O.
M sits second to the right of O. No one sits to the right of M. A is an immediate
neighbor of both O and L. D and A face the same direction as H. O and L are
facing opposite direction of each other. More than two persons sit between L
and H. J sits second to the left of X, who faces north. M faces north direction.

Eight friends i.e. P, Q, R, S, W, X, Y and Z are sitting around a square table.
Four people sit at the corner of the square and four person sit at middle of side
of the square. Those who sit at the corner face inside the square and those
who sit at middle of side face outside the square.

(i) X sits immediate left of Z.

(ii) P is not neighbor of W.
(iii) Q sits 4th right of P.
(iv) The number of person between R and W is one.
(v) R sits at corner but not immediate neighbor of X.
(vi) S sits opposite of W.
(vii) P sits 2nd left of Y who is neighbor of W.

Eight persons S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z are sitting in a row but not necessarily

in the same order. Three of them are facing south while the remaining five are
facing north.
U sits third to the left of V, who sits at one of the extreme ends of the row. Two
persons sit between U and X. Both U and X are facing same direction. One
person sits between T and S. Neither T nor S is an immediate neighbor of U. Z,
who is facing the same direction as X, sits second to the right of W. Immediate
neighbor of S faces same direction. S is facing south direction. The persons
sitting at the extreme ends face the same direction. At least two adjacent
persons are facing the same direction. Y is not neighbor of U. Y and X are
facing opposite directions (if one is facing north then the other person is

Eight persons P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W are sitting in a circle facing the centre,

out of which four persons are from the same family. S who is son of P sits
immediate right of T, while V sits immediate left of R who is father-in-law of P.
U is an immediate neighbor of Q who is daughter of R. P sits opposite to
neither Q nor U. P is not the neighbor of U. R is an immediate neighbor of Q,
who has no siblings.

table (two sides each) facing towards the centre.
Only one person sits between L and the one who likes Banana. L does not like
Pineapple or Orange. P does not like Pineapple. N sits third to the right of M. M
likes Mango. R sits second to the left of Q. Q is not an immediate neighbor of N
or M. The one who likes Kiwi is an immediate neighbor of Q. Three persons sit
between M and the one who likes Cherry. M, N and their immediate immediate
neighbor do not like Pineapple. Only one person sits between the one who
likes Pineapple and O. The one who likes Orange and Apple are immediate
neighbors of each other. N likes neither apple nor orange.

PUZZLE - 9
Twelve persons sit in two parallel rows containing six persons each in such a
way that there is an equal distance between adjacent persons. In row-1- M, N,
O, P, Q and R are sitting and all of them are facing north direction. In row-2- S,
T, U, V, W and X are sitting and all of them are facing south direction. In the
given seating arrangement, each member sitting in a row is facing another
member of the other row. Two persons sit between N and Q. P sits third to the
right of O. O and P do not sit adjacent to N. One of the immediate neighbors of
O faces T. R sits one of the places to the left of Q. One of the immediate
neighbors of R faces W. Two persons sit between W and U. V sits second from
either end of the row. Two persons sit between V and X. One of the immediate
neighbors of X faces N.

neighbor of Q and sits second to the right of the one who is from Rajasthan.
The one who is from Rajasthan is not an immediate neighbor of Q. U sits third
to the right of the one who is from Gujarat and he does not sit opposite to R.
The one who is from Chattisgarh sits third to the right of the one who is from
Assam. Neither T nor R belongs to Assam. The one who is from Bihar sits
