acceleration

Explain Newton’s First law and
Newton’s second low.

Determine the factors affecting

Objectives: on the acceleration of an object.

Implementing force
Calculations.
Newtons First
law:
•An object at rest remains at
rest, or if in motion,
remains in motion at a
constant velocity unless
acted on by a resultant
force.
Factors affecting on
acceleration of moving
object:

1. The force acting on the object.

As the force acting on an object is bigger, the
acceleration of the object is bigger (ex: as you
are applying more force from the accelerator of
a car , the more acceleration it gives to the car)

2. The mass of the object.

The greater the mass of an object, the smaller
the acceleration it is given by a particular force.
Newton’s Second
law:
acceleration of an object as
produced by a net force is directly
proportional to the magnitude of
the net force, in the same direction
as the net force, and inversely
proportional to the object’s mass.
