I. INTRODUCTION TABLE 1. Household Table (Juagdan)

Juagdan is one of the 44 barangays of the

municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol,
Philippines. Juagdan overlooks Bohol Sea to the east; it
is bounded to the north by Cagting, to the south by
Guintaboan and to the west by Biabas. It is 16km from
the town center, Poblacion. The history Juagdan was
once a big barrio of the municipality. However, during
the 1950s and years after, former sitios like Cagting,
Cuya, Guintaboan and Tintinan separated and became
independent barangays. The name Juagdan came from the
Visayan word hagdan which means "bridge or pathway".

II. DEMOGRAPHICS

According to the 2015 Census data, Juagdan had

a household population of 1,185 residents, residing in a
total of 278 households. This data reveals an intriguing
aspect of the barangay's demographics, with an average
household size of approximately 4.26 members. Such
information not only provides insights into the
TABLE 2. Household Table (Juagdan
community's size and composition but also hints at its
social structure and family dynamics, which can be
crucial for local planning and development efforts, this is
shown in table 1 and 2.
According to the 2015 Census, the age groups Table 3. (Population by age group)
with the highest population in Juagdan are in the ranges 5
to 9, and 10 to 14, with 166 individuals. Conversely, the
age group with the lowest population is 75 to 79, with 15
individuals.

Combining age groups together, those aged 14

and below, consisting of the young dependent population
which include infants/babies, children and young
adolescents/teenagers, make up an aggregate of 38.99%
(462). Those aged 15 up to 64, roughly, the economically
active population and actual or potential members of the
work force, constitute a total of 52.32% (620). Finally,
old dependent population consisting of the senior citizens,
those aged 65 and over, total 8.69% (103) in.

The computed Age Dependency Ratios mean

that among the population of Juagdan, there are 75 youth
dependents to every 100 of the working age population;
there are 17 aged/senior citizens to every 100 of the
working population; and overall, there are 91 dependents
(young and old-age) to every 100 of the working
population.

The median age of 22 indicates that half of the entire

population of Juagdan are aged less than 22 and the other
half are over the age of 22, this is shown in Table 3.

IV. ELECTRICITY STATUS

I did not collect specific information regarding
the electrical status in Juagdan, Ubay, Bohol, primarily
due to its relatively small size and remote location, which
is situated at a considerable distance from the main
poblacion of Ubay. However, I have been in contact with
a reliable friend who has confirmed that the electrical
infrastructure in Juagdan is aligned with that of the
poblacion, as both areas are seamlessly connected to the
regional electrical grid.
Power in Bohol is under a rotating power-
sharing basis provided by Power Barge 104 with 26MW
capacity moored in Tapal wharf, Ubay, and the Bohol
Diesel Power Plant in Dampas, Tagbilaran City
supplying 12MW both owned by Salcon Power
Corporation.
