PRODUCT APPRAISAL SCHEME

▪ Evaluates a product's design, performance, and

acceptability.
▪ Evaluation process - based on the performance
level that the product's producer declares when
there are no suitable standards available.
▪ Evaluation scheme comprises
2 main categories:

1 System Appraisal

CERTIFICATION OF ALUMINIUM
SLIDING DOOR AND WINDOWS
▪ The Malaysian Standard of MS 832 and MS 1017
specifies materials, construction, finishes,
hardware, and performance standards that must
be comply required by CIDB.
▪ SIRIM QAS can test and certify components such as:
▪ Aluminium and aluminium alloy for extruded shapes
(MS 2289)
▪ Aluminium and aluminium alloys for sheets and coiled
sheets (MS 2040)
▪ Safety glass in building (MS 1498)
▪ Testing and certification for float glass (MS 1135)
▪ Compliance testing of joint sealant (ASTM C920.)
▪ Testing for minimum requirements of fastener such as
bolts and screws.
▪ Testing for operating device, bearing device and
hardware such as handles and lock set, sliding window
and door rollers, and hinges.

▪ The purpose of the certification label is to show

that the product has been certified and has
complied with the Product Standards and related
certification requirements.

▪ Providing a mechanism for license holders to

ensure the authenticity of their cables.

▪ Facilitating enforcement activities by simply

scanning the QR code via SIRIM QAS Apps.

vehicles that rampantly sold in Malaysian market.

EN 13501-1 FOR BUILDING MATERIALS TESTING

▪ EN 13501-1 and BS 476 have been aligned into Malaysian

Building By-Laws 1984 (Amendment 2021)
▪ The testing evaluates various aspects of a material’s
reaction to fire, including its combustibility, heat release
rate, flame spread, smoke production, and the production
of burning droplets or particles.

▪ Regular assessments, including flow, pressure,

and performance tests, are conducted to
confirm the pumps' operational readiness.
