Rule No.1 – “R-E-P-C-T” As the song of Aretha Franklin entitled, one of the most important netiquettes
that we should follow is the respect to every user of the internet to communicate with one another. This
rule applies to whoever or whatever the medium we use, may it be through the use of our language or
even our attitude towards another.

Rule No. 2 – “REAL ME” When we are communicating to socialize, always be yourself and show your
actual self. In this way, it will avoid misunderstandings.

Rule No. 3 – “NICE SO WISE” Nowadays, it’s just so easy to have friends through social media, but we
should always be careful in choosing our friends. Perhaps, they will show you pleasant things, but always
remember to be wise as well.

Rule. No. 4 – “THINK-BEFORE-YOU-CLICK” Ever since social media became popular, thinking before
clicking has been so infamous in its bad and good effect on people. It maybe sounds so cliché, but
admittedly it is effective. Let’s be conscious of what we post online, especially our bodies.

Rule No. 5 – “UP-TO-DATE” Always make sure that your personal information is updated and
continuously changing, especially your passwords, to avoid being hacked.

Rule No. 6 – “BE SUSPICOUS” Always check the legitimacy of some links shared with you. Some of them
may contain viruses or tricks to hack your social media accounts or other important information of
yours.

Rule No. 7 – “TRUSTWORTHY” We should all be trustworthy with the information given to us, may it be
from our friends or from someone who trusted us. Indeed, privacy should always be respected.

Rule No. 8 – “DO NOT OBLITERATE” They made the Internet for a lot of purposes. Social media,
specifically focuses on communication wherever you are in the world. It was made to connect with
people we may know or not, so always be welcoming and don’t obliterate others, especially those who
have good intentions for us.

Rule No. 9 – “BE ETHICAL” Foremost be ethical. In this modern-day, the right ethics and the basic rules
are the ones who are being snubbed by others. It is the most fundamental, and we should always follow
and respect it.

Rule No. 10 – “AUTHENTICITY” Fake news is a rampant issue nowadays, and we should ease it. Some
people receive false information because of inaccurate news or claims. As fair users, it should start in
ourselves. We should always choose the news we share online, and it should always be authentic.
