Translation:
New Year is one of the most important holidays in Spain. The celebration begins on the night
of December 31st, known as New Year's Eve. During this night, families and friends gather to
say goodbye to the old year and welcome the New Year.
The most notable tradition on New Year's Eve is the chimes. At midnight, everyone gathers in
front of the television or on the streets to listen to the chimes of the clock. The clock marks
the last seconds of the year, and during each chime, people eat a grape as a symbol of luck for
the upcoming year. It is said that if you can eat the twelve grapes in time with each chime,
you'll have a year full of prosperity.
After the chimes, people toast with champagne or cider and exchange hugs and kisses. It's
also very common to set off fireworks to celebrate the beginning of the New Year.
During this time, people also write lists of wishes for the New Year. These wishes often
include personal goals, dreams, and hopes for the future.
In Spain, it is common for New Year parties to continue until the early morning hours. People
have fun, dance, and enjoy the company of their loved ones. Some even attend special parties
organized in cities or clubs.
Happy New Year! May all your wishes come true in this new year.

clima.
Planet Earth is warming up. This is called global warming and human activities cause it,
such as burning fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas). By releasing greenhouse gases, the atmosphere
retains more heat, and it is causing changes in the climate.
These changes are noticeable in the increase in average temperature, the melting of glaciers,
sea level rise, more extreme weather events (hurricanes, droughts, floods) and changes in
ecosystems.
We are all affected by global warming, but its consequences can be especially serious for the
most vulnerable communities.
Preguntas:
1. ¿Qué actividades humanas contribuyen al calentamiento global?
