Sub Theme: Gratitude : Intercultural Relations

Lesson Proper
Introduction (5 minutes):

Begin by introducing the theme of the lesson: Community Awareness with a focus on
Gratitude in Intercultural Relations. Explain the importance of understanding and
appreciating different cultures in building a harmonious community.

Icebreaker Activity (10 minutes):

Conduct an icebreaker activity where students share something they are grateful for in their
own culture or community. This will set a positive and inclusive tone for the lesson.

Multimedia Exploration (8 minutes):

Show a short video or presentation highlighting the beauty and diversity of various cultures
around the world. Encourage students to take note of similarities and differences they
observe.

Small Group Discussion (8 minutes):

Divide students into small groups and assign each group a specific culture to discuss.
Prompt them to identify aspects of that culture they find interesting and express gratitude for
those elements.

Group Presentation (5 minutes per group):

Each group presents their findings from the small group discussion to the class. Encourage
students to actively listen and ask questions to promote intercultural understanding.
Class Reflection (2 minutes):

Lead a brief class reflection where students share their key takeaways from the group
presentations. Emphasize the importance of gratitude in fostering positive intercultural
relations.

Conclusion and Homework Assignment (2 minutes):

Summarize the lesson by reinforcing the significance of gratitude in promoting community


awareness and intercultural harmony. Assign homework that involves writing a reflection on
a personal experience where gratitude played a role in bridging cultural differences.
