the Company was nationalized by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. The

e) Business field of PT Semen Padang : Cement Industry

PT Semen Padang implements a multiplier effect where the cement industry will
open various business fields and jobs in various sectors such as the growth of the mining
industry, both in various industries of raw materials, coal and supporting materials. In
addition, the growth of transportation has an impact on the existence of workshops and
shops. And also the growth of various contractors and suppliers / vendors, including the
rise of UMKM and so on.

f) PT Semen Padang’s Contribution for the Country

On March 18, 1910 PT Semen Padang started they business at cement production.
Pt Semen Padang to be the oldest cement producer in Indonesia. By with an age of one
hundred and ten years, PT Semen Padang had a big impact for Indonesia, especially in
West Sumatra. In this essay, I will let you know how much PT Semen Padang influence
to government.
Based on a statement from president director PT Semen Padang, Yosviandri, has
made a number of major contributions. The examples are the largest original income
contribution (PAD) for West Sumatra through the payment of taxes and levies. PT Semen
Padang also carried out indirectly as the locomotive of the West Sumatra economy
through employment, driving the economy of the communities around the factory, and
also through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. Furthermore, PT Semen
Padang also providing scholarship for students in various levels, like elementary school,
junior high school, senior high school until college level. PT Semen Padang also
providing the scholarship for high achieving athletes. This scholarship realized by
holding “Peduli Nagari” and “Pandai Nagari” programs. This program is a form of PT
Semen Padang's concern for the advancement of the education of the younger generation.

The company has also shown its commitment to preserving the environment by
ensuring factory operations are in accordance with applicable regulations, as evidenced
by the achievement of Green Proper twice in a row in 2016 and 2017.

PT Semen Padang also contributed to the construction of the National Monument,

Semanggi Bridge, MPR / DPR Building in Senayan, and Hotel Indonesia in the heart of
Jakarta in the early 1960s. If only there was no cement factory in Indarung Hill, the
Indonesian people might not have noticed all of this building above and maybe there was
no Ampera Bridge that crossed the Musi River which divided Palembang City until the
1970s. There is also no cement factory in Gresik whose buildings use domestically
produced cement.

Those are some of the contributions of PT Semen Padang , of course there are
many more contributions that have been made by PT Semen Padang as the oldest cement
producer in Indonesia. By this age, PT Semen Padang has made many contributions to
Indonesia. both large and small contributions. Of course, one hundred and ten years is not
a short time. We must be proud to have PT Semen Padang in Indonesia, especially we as
citizens of West Sumatra.

The External Environment of PT. Semen Padang

Technology

PT Semen Padang has a several machine to run their business. PT Semen Padang is
cement industry which of course use some technology to produce their products. But, as we
know that all of the factory not only produce goods but also produce waste. Even we as
household produce waste to. But, PT Semen Padang has its own way of producing their waste.
PT Semen Padang use the principle of Green Industry as a form of their concern for the
environment.

PT Semen Padang applies the realization of the green industry. That is, air emissions are
well below the threshold of 30 mg/Nm3. Then, the management of water resources by building
recirculation, and water reservoir, and waste management. Also, reduce CO2 gas.

Waste Heat Recovery Power Engineering (WHRPG). Is a project that was inaugurated by
the Minister of Industry M S Hidayat on October 26, 2011. WHRPG is the result of cooperation
between Japanese government and Indonesia government . This is a form of the application of
environmentally friendly technology which is a technology for utilizing exhaust gases. WHRPG
is the first exhaust gas utilization technology to be applied to the cement industry in Indonesia.

WHRPG capable of producing electrical energy of 8.5 MW from the heat wasted in the
production process. WHRPG give an positive impact to PT Semen Padang , which PT Semen
Padang can saving their cost by about twenty percent or thereabouts Rp33 billion. WHRPG also
give a good impact for environment, where this technology can reduce CO2 gas approximately
43.000 ton in a year. PT Semen Padang also implement emissions control that can which can
catch dust as a result of cement production activities.

Global

The processing or packaging of cement, there will be various impacts on the

environment, but these impacts are as follows:
One of the negative impacts of the cement industry is air pollution by dust. Dust
generated by cement industrial activities consists of dust generated during the procurement of
raw materials, dust during the combustion process, and dust generated during the transportation
of raw materials to the factory and finished materials outside the factory, including their
packaging. In addition, the cement factory also increases the air temperature and the sound
generated by the machines in the factory also causes noise.

Cement dust has many negative impacts on health and the environment. Apart from dust,
here are examples of the negative impacts of cement factories on the environment.

a. Land

Decreased quality in terms of soil fertility due to clay mining. This change in terms of
time will extend towards a decrease in water holding capacity which in turn will also affect the
quantity of river water. Meanwhile, in terms of space, it will affect the balance or harmony of
the local environment.

b. Water

Water quality worsens due to liquid waste from the factory in the form of oil and residual
water from mining activities, which creates critical land that is prone to erosion, which will lead
to silting of riverbeds, which in turn will cause flooding problems in the rainy season.

c. Flora and fauna

Reduced flora diversity due to changing vegetation patterns and endemic types, and the
formation of chlorophyll and photosynthesis processes, while the reduced diversity of fauna
(birds, land animals and rare animals) is due to changes in water and soil habitats where these
animals live.

d. Irritation of the skin

This can occur due to the abrasive nature of the cement in contact with the skin. The
process can be either directly or indirectly (protected or by sweat).

e. Allergies
This can occur depending on the level of sensitivity of a person, allergies that can arise
due to cement dust include: sneezing, difficulty breathing for sufferers of asthma, itching.

f. Irritation of the eyes

This can occur depending on the amount of exposure to dust, irritation that occurs from
red eye disorders to serious eye injury.

g. Respiratory disorders

Things that can be a contributing factor, including when emptying a cement bag so that
the cement dust is inhaled. When stirring, grinding or cutting the cement mixture material can
also release some cement dust. In the short term it can cause irritation to the respiratory tract,
while in the long term it can cause respiratory problems.

Economic

The economic dimension is the overall health and vitality of the economic system in which
the organization operates. If the economic condition is in shock, it will directly affect the
organization. Economic factors that are especially important to business are general economic
growth, inflation, the interest rate and the unemployment rate.

a) Positive impact of economy from PT Semen Padang

1. Generate foreign exchange or income for the State, local governments, and
shareholders.
2. Creating jobs for the local community.
Economically, the existence of PT Semen Padang have influenced 2 things: (1)
Distribution of community income and (2) Distribution of expenditure. From the income
distribution, it can be seen that the evenness that occurs in the community as a result of
the existence of PT. Semen Padang. Meanwhile, the distribution of expenditure can show
the economic resilience of the community and also the level of poverty.
b) The negative impact from an economic point of view is that there are societies that
experience social change in progress and regress. Only a handful of people are
experiencing progress, namely the village elite. The most beneficiary is the former
Village Head who was a subordinate of PT. Semen Indonesia and the middle and upper
class because their income has increased. Meanwhile, people who experience social
change in regress are the farming communities affected by industrialization. Farmers who
owned narrow land when PT. Semen Indonesia has experienced a lot of vertical social
mobility down from peasant society to unemployment

Demographic

Demography is the study of the dynamics of the human population. Demographics

include the size, structure and distribution of the population, as well as how the population
changes over time due to birth, death, migration, and aging.

Within the company, this demographic can describe the characteristics of the company's
target customers. In a B2B (business-to-business) market, where the target customer is another
company, Company Demographics can also be used for B2C (business-to-consumer) companies.
This will focus on the demographics of individual buyers.

Demographics can help companies determine where to focus their sales, marketing and
growth efforts. They can help companies predict the future, because there are patterns in the way
people go through life stages.

Based on this, the demographics of PT Semen Padang are:

1. In the B2B market, PT Semen Padang is targeting construction companies / companies

engaged in construction for the sale of their products.
2. Meanwhile, in the B2C market, PT Semen Padang is targeting the international market as
well as the domestic market, as follows:
Politics

1. Politics influenced the sales of PT Semen Padang due to the halt in development due to
the election.

2. Transfer of factory shares from the Netherlands to the Indonesian government.

Socio - Cultural

PT. Semen Padang has a program called Corporate Social Responsibility. Corporate
Social Responsibility is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and
environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions with their stakeholders.
CSR is generally understood as being the way through which a company achieves a balance of
economic, environmental, and social imperatives (“Triple-Bottom-Line-Approach”), while at the
same time addressing the expectations of shareholders and stakeholders. In this sense, it is
important to draw a distinguish between CSR, which can be a strategic business
management concept, and charity, sponsorships, or philanthropy. Even though the latter can also
make a valuable contribution to poverty reduction, will directly enhance the reputation of a
company and strengthen its brand, the concept of CSR clearly beyond that.
Programs realized by CSR include:

1. Semen Padang distributes scholarships amounting to IDR 726,950,000.00 to elementary

school students, junior high schools, high schools, students, and athletes in 2018

irrigate 120 ha of rice fields, it has also empowered 2 local vendors and can absorb 250
workers from the local community amid of the COVID-19 outbreak.
4. Semen Padang through CSR program shows its concern by building a suspension bridge
connecting Baringin and Tarantang villages.

STAKEHOLDERS

Internal Stakeholders
1. Shareholders
2. Management and Top Executives
3. Employees
4. Employee's family

External Stakeholders
1. Consumers
2. Distributor
3. Suppliers
4. Bank
5. Government
6. Competitors
7. Community
8. The press

The role of each stakeholder in the company

1. Shareholders and owners act as providers of capital in the company so that operations can
run. They also become supervisors who observe the performance of their subordinates.
2. Employees who are a determining factor for the performance of a company. That's why
they are also company stakeholders.
3. 3.Suppliers or suppliers influence the company's performance so that they also become
stakeholders.
4. Consumers also play a role as stakeholders because they use our products and judge
them.
5. Banks are individuals or companies that provide capital assistance for company
operations.
6. 6.Competitors or competitors take part in decisions, policies, and company projects. Just
check out the Toyota and Honda car companies that are competing in the Indonesian
market.
7. 7.The government is a party that is also a stakeholder in a company. Decisions taken by
both central and regional governments also influence policies, decisions and projects to
be implemented by a company.

What will happen if the firm didn’t meet the interest of stakeholder?
The firm has the responsibility to their stakeholder. Both internal and external
stakeholder. If they didn’t meet the interest of stakeholder, the firm will get the bad impact. If
they didn’t concern about the interest of their employee, the firm maybe can lost their employee.
If the firm didn’t engage the share holders in making decisions there is the big possibility that
they will lost their share holders. Next, consumers are partners, meaning the company must be
able to be a good partner for their customers.
Through the CRM (Customers Relation Management) approach, companies try to
provide good benefits by selling products / services to their customers in the hope of a Repeat
Order from them. Vice versa, if they didn’t provide good benefit to their costumer they will lost
their customer. And lastly, the firm should meet the stakeholder interest if they want the
company to continue operating in the long term. in order to have a balanced role, the company
applies CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility ).

THE IMPACT OF RUU CIPTA KERJA FOR PT SEMEN PADANG

Positive Impact for PT Semen Padang
1. PKWT or Contract
In this case, it has a positive impact on the company, because there are no more permanent
employees, and contract extensions depend on the entrepreneur or company, and only
compensation is given.

2. Outsourcing
In this RUU Cipta Kerja will only benefit companies and investors, because this rule allows
them to "save" costs without having to think about employee welfare. If this bill is passed, the
welfare of workers will be threatened because contract employees will lose the opportunity to
become permanent employees. In addition, they also run the risk of being treated like
freelancers.

3. Wages
The company is free to set the unit of output assigned to workers as the basis for calculating
wages so that the company can save on company funds and maximize company income

4. Severance pay and JKP

In conclusion, the amount of severance pay received by workers was much lower than
previously promised by the government. However, regarding the reduced severance pay, the
government offered unemployment benefits, which he said would guarantee the sustainability
of workers. The components of the wages used by the government as the basis for calculating
severance pay and reward pay consist of the basic wage and fixed allowances. The
calculation, the amount of severance pay is adjusted to the years of service. The longer you
work, the greater the severance pay you get. And this is certainly a positive impact on the
company..
5. Foreign Workers (TKA)
a) Development of a field for the better
b) There is an increase in investment
c) Trigger local labor productivity
TKA has a good impact on the company, however, foreign workers are employed only in a
work relationship for certain positions and have competencies in accordance with the position
to be occupied.

6. Sanctions
The Job Creation Law removes Article 91 in the Manpower Law, which requires that the
wages agreed by employers and workers must not be lower than the minimum wage
according to statutory regulations.
This point will give benefit to companies because companies will pay lower wages to workers
and do nothing because there are no more sanctions requiring them to do so.

7. Working time limits

Based on the Law Article 77 paragraph 2, working time is divided into 2, where a: 7 hours per
day with 40 hours per week (6: 1) and b: 8 hours per day (5: 2) in the new law article 81
paragraph 23 states that where workers must be given a weekly rest period of one day. This
law also removes the provision of long breaks which are certainly beneficial for companies
because the company will provide services for workers with longer working hours but not
necessarily increase the salary given. The company is also benefited by eliminating the leave
period for employees because the company does not have an obligation to provide leave.

Negative impact not found

THE IMPACT OF STIMULUS 1000 T FOR PT SEMEN PADANG
The stimulus of 1000 trillion includes an external environment but it does not have an impact on
the Padang cement company, because this government regulation only focuses on small
companies that are about to go bankrupt
Conclusion:
RUU has a more positive impact on companies, while the 1000 trillion stimulus does not have a
positive or negative impact on companies.
