E.g. Kate would prefer tea to coffee.

S + would prefer + (not) + V (to-infinitive)

E.g. I would prefer not to talk to him because he is in bad mood.

S + would prefer + V (to-infinitive) + rather than + V

(bare-infinitive)

E.g. They would prefer to do their homework rather than go to the party.

E.g. My mom would prefer me to stay at home for another 3 days.

Ngoài cấu trúc Would rather mang ý nghĩa là “thích cái gì/làm gì” thì cấu trúc
Would rather … than còn dùng để so sánh 2 thứ với nhau ➞ “thích cái gì hơn
cái gì”.
