The grid system of a P&ID allows information to be more easily identified using the
coordinates provided by the grid

The coordinate letter and numbers break down the P&ID into smaller blocks

The revision block of a P&ID provides for each revision :

The revision number

The title or summary of the revision

The date of the revision

The notes and legend section of a P&ID provides explanations of special symbols or
conventions used on the drawing and any additional information the designer felt
necessary to understand the P&ID
