The Pandemic: The spread of unwanted disease (COVID-19)

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a type of intfectious disease
produced by the SARS-CoV-2 virus — The virus that causes a respiratory
disease including coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19). This Virus can be present
and be detected in your nasal secretions using the following tests: PCR Test,
Diagnostic tests, and Antigen Tests. The start of the pandemic happened in
Wuhan, China where their officials attempted to know this particular mysterious
virus resulting in a worldwide pandemic. The global impact of the virus has
prompted nations to adapt to a 'new normal,' requiring them to reset and improve
various aspects of their societies. This adjustment has been particularly
challenging for countries like the Philippines, which have faced economic
setbacks and suppression due to the pandemic. This Virus can be spread
primarly by just a simple person-to-person or face-to-face droplets of human fluids;
It is the major reason why ‘social distancing’ during the new normal should be well
practiced.

The bar chart depicts the total number of COVID-19 cases in Region 4A,
focusing on cases within Laguna, from July 2020 to December 2023. It can be
observed that the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 1,112. Five months
after the implementation of complete lockdown in specific cities; by December

2020, the total number of cases had increased to 2,826. After a year
(December 2021), the spread of the virus striked and continued resulting into a
total number of 5250 active cases. The number of cases began to decline, with
114 cases reported at the end of 2022 and further reducing to 102 cases by the
end of December 2023.

The bar graph describe how much money is being funded by the government
for the health nessesities of the community as a response from the pandemic. The
budget allocation stated in the graph includes funds designated for the entire
Philippines, as well as a separate distribution specifically targeted for the Region
4A (CALABARZON). For the whole year of 2020, the expenses exceeded the
allocated budget of 205 billion pesos for the Philippines as a whole. As the year
2022 approaches, by December 2021, there was a budget of 13.56 billion pesos
(Region 4A) designated solely for pandemic response in CALABARZON and 119
billion pesos as a whole by the end of 2022. During December 2023, the fund
specifically used to provide as a recovery in provinces after the pandemic for the
year is 16,546B (Region 4A). The virus hasn't been completely extinct, but it has
significantly decreased, thus, people are now adapting to what is commonly
referred to as the 'new normal' era.; It is expected for the government to continue
showing support for the country including the region covered in this research —
Region 4A (Laguna).
