FINDINGS
SUMMARY OF THE STUDY

Since reading is a skill utilized in every academic subject area, it is a logical domain to examine for a
correlational relationship with the academic performance. The ability to read is an essential skill for
students to master because information is presented in text throughout the world .

This study can provide additional evidence to support the findings that a relationship between reading
comprehension level and academic performance exists and that it changes over time depending upon the
age level being examined. The data collection instrument will also adhere to ethical guidelines for
research involving human subjects, and the participants will be informed about the study's goal and
nature, and their consent will be requested prior to data collection.

The study Methodology is a descriptive method. The researchers used likert scale survey questionnaires
to get the response of thirty (30) respondent with regards to how class ranking them.The participants were
chosen using a random sampling method. After getting the response , the reseachers were able to
determine that class ranking negatively affects the students .

CONCLUSION

The following conclusions were made based on the findings of the study:

1. The research might conclude that strong reading comprehension skills significantly contribute to
academic success in HUMSS subjects. This could imply that students who excel in understanding
and interpreting written material perform better in their overall academic assessments.
2. The study might highlight the existence of individual differences, suggesting that the impact of
reading comprehension on academic performance varies among students. This could lead to
recommendations for personalized approaches to address specific needs.

EIDETIC INSIGHT

By means of an extensive examination of Grade 12 HUMSS students, our research reveals a strong and
positive correlation between reading comprehension and academic achievement. The results highlight
how important it is for students to have strong reading abilities in order to influence their academic
performance in the HUMSS curriculum.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Early intervention programs in Grade 12 HUMSS can improve students' reading comprehension skills.
2. Implement subject-specific strategies for HUMSS courses, considering different fields' needs.
3. Provide professional growth opportunities for educators to become proficient instructors and assessors
of reading comprehension. This includes workshops, seminars, and continuing education initiatives.
