RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This study utilized the descriptive – comparative method with the use of a

researcher-made survey questionnaire. Figure 1 shows the flow of the study.

Research Environment

This study will be conducted in Keppel Bldg., Cebu Business Park Cebu

City. Access E-talk Plus, Inc. is one of the best Online English School in the

Philippines offering English lessons to Asian and European students. It is well

known school in Japan for inventing new ways of learning English online – where

you can work and experience the best of all. Refer to Appendix C for the location

map.

Research Respondents

The respondents of this study will be the remote employees of Access E-talk

Plus, Inc. Random sampling techniques will be used; for demographic information

“What is your age?’ ‘How long have you been working in your current

organization?’ And, for work from home experience ‘On average, how many hours

do you work per day from home” ‘What are the main challenges you face when

working home?

Research Instrument

This study will use a researcher-made survey instrument which will be

validated by experts/panel members and pilot tested to determine its internal


consistency. Please rate how much you personally agree or disagree with these

statement - how much they reflect how you feel or think personally. Part 1 of the

instrument deals on demographic information. Part 2 deals on Work from Home

Experience. Part 3 deals on the productivity assessment. The respondents will use

the rating scheme: (5) strongly agree (4) Agree (3) Neutral (2) Disagree (1)

strongly disagree.

Research Procedures

This section presents the gathering of data and statistics tools to be used in

the study.

Data Gathering. Prior to the actual data gathering, the researcher will send

a transmittal letter to Access E-talk Plus Inc. manager asking permission to

conduct the study. The findings of the study would serve as basis of a proposed

enhancement program. The target respondents are those employees who are

working from home for at least (2) years. In this connection, I am asking your

permission to allow me to distribute my survey questionnaire to your employees.

The selected employees will be given 15 minutes to answer the questionnaire. Rest

assured that whatever information gathered will be treated with utmost

confidentiality.
Treatment of Data. The following statistical tools will be used in the study:

Frequency Count and Per Cent will be used to summarize, analyze and interpret

the profile of the profile of the respondents;

Weighted Mean and Ranking will be used to summarize, analyze and

interpret the effectiveness of productivity and job satisfaction on employees’ work

from home.

Chi-Square will be used to determine the significance of the relationship

between the respondents’ profile and their productivity and job satisfaction on

employees’ work from home.

Analysis of Variance or the t-test will be used to determine the significance

of the differences among productivity and job satisfaction on employee’s work

from home.
DEFINITION OF TERMS

The following terms are operationally defined for better understanding:

Effectiveness. The degree to which a specific consequence or purpose is

accomplished is referred to as effectiveness. Effectiveness in the context of work

from home refers to a worker's capacity to carry out tasks effectively, achieve

objectives, and generate desired outcomes when working remotely.

Productivity. Productivity in the context of working from home refers to the

amount of production, efficiency, and effectiveness displayed by employees while

carrying out their responsibilities remotely.

Job Satisfaction. It reflects the degree of satisfaction, joy, and positive

emotions a worker has about their job, their workplace, and the company.

Work from Home. It entails working remotely from the main office while

still performing job duties and collaborating with coworkers utilizing technology

and digital communication tools.

Employee. An employee is a person who performs work-related duties

remotely, away from the physical office location, while using technology and

communication tools to stay in touch with their employer and coworkers.
