Financial Literacy Lesson Plan

Grade: 2
Activity Title: Canadian Coins and Bills!
Length of Lesson: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Specific Expectations: Money Concepts; F1.1: Identify different ways of


representing the same amount of money up to Canadian 200¢ using various
combinations of coins, and up to $200 using various combinations of $1 and $2
coins and $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills.

Time Activity Materials Needed


15 minutes Hook Computer

- Familiarize students with Canadian Projector/Screen

- Have students identify which one of Links

- Currency combinations worksheet assesses students knowledge in various
formats (drawing, writing, pictures, text)
- Can answer questions in their preferred format (writing or drawing)
