1. Will the Philly Bike Share be a success? If your response is yes,

also provide reasons as to why it may fail. How can the Philly Bike
share curb air pollution in the city?

The Philly Bike share has had an immediate share of success. There is a group of the cities
inhabitants who have adopted and decided to use this mode of transportation. They have deemed it an
early success.

The Philly Bike Share system is a success do to the fact that it has been adapted by some of the cities
inhabitants and has plans to grow in the future. “There are about 600 Indego bikes with more than 60
stations position throughout the city with more planned for the future.” The Philly Bike Share is a system
used to reduce air pollution as less people use cars. It may never completely replace automotive
transportation, but it could be a much-needed supplement to the standard use of transportation.

Some reasons that can cause the failure of the Philly Bike Share could be lack of adoption within the
majority of the city inhabitants, also theft, and lack of supply or accommodation for those who do want
to use them. The reason for lack of overall adoption is simply not everyone wants to ride a bike some
may prefer the comforts of their own car, while others may like the ease of public transportation.
Another reason like theft or destruction of property is for the simple fact that there is always an element
of destruction in society especially in our day and times. The other reason for those who prefer to use
them and adopt the use of Philly Bike Shares is there might not be enough bikes for all those who want
to use them in a particular location.

The Philly Bike Share deemed to be successful still may have pitfalls it will need to avoid. The
solution to the air pollution it brings is a refresher but the adoption of this mode of transport might take
time to be widely used.

The Philly Bike Share association will be a successful way to help
restore our environmental atmosphere. A vehicle is the most common
way to travel and it causes there to be an increase in atmospheric
smog. Smog is a set of polluted air that adversely affects and
contributes to global warming. When there are issues with the climate
it negatively impacts the ecosystem and kills essential resources in
the environment. Smog also intoxicates the air causing many health
risks like throat burns, illnesses, lung problems, etc. in certain areas
that prefer to ride bikes instead of cars, it is evident that the air is
cleaner. Choosing to ride cars less, especially for short distances, can
heal the environment and provide clean air for humans to healthily
intake.

People are becoming increasingly educated about how choosing to

ride a bike instead of using vehicles for short distances may impact
our climate issues for the better. People agree to ride bikes because
they want clean air. It is also an easy, fun, and cheap way to visit
multiple of the most common attractions in the city. The fact that
people won’t have to worry about the irritable amount of city traffic
makes riding a bike a more efficient way to maneuver around. People
are also motivated about ways to not pay for parking and worry about
any violations. Riding bikes allow people to save a lot of money in
contrast to what they usually spend on transportation.

Although the bike association has a high chance of success, there are
many reasons it may fail. A lot of people could be discouraged because
they are simply not able or don’t want to ride a bike. Being as though it
is not free to ride a bike, people may not look at it as saving more
money in comparison to the cost of transporting by automobile. Also,
in the rental agreement for each bike, there is a $50 security deposit
for it. Some people would not want to be responsible for what may
happen to the bike.

You brought some very good points with regards to the Philly
Bike Share. It seems to be a helpful solution that may reduce the
smog and pollution in the air somewhat, depending on adaption.
Although some might not adapt to the system for causes like paying
for the bike and not cutting all costs with regards to bikes and
transporting by vehicle. While some might see the advantages of a
better parking situation and avoiding the much-hated ticket.

The Philly Bike Share is a system that can bring about some
relief to the environment by reducing pollution, especially if more
occupants of the city were to adapt to it. Change is ever altering so it
can be hard to tell how wide the adoption of the bike share would be,
however even a small lifestyle change can bring about better results
than not trying to change an issue at all.
